RE: Book share an voice dream reader

2018-03-18 Thread Richard Turner
If you have downloaded a voice in VoiceOver, you can select it from within
Voice Dream Reader.

The voice siply has to be available on your device.

For example, I have both Tom and Tom Enhanced in the Voice Dream Voices because
I downloaded Tom Enhanced.
However, I only have one listing for Samantha, because I did not download the
enhanced voice.

Oh, I knew that as far as voiceovers concern. I just wondered if there was an
option for Samantha enhanced in Voice dream reader. I mostly use book Cher to
look more closely at a particular text and when I do that I use my regular
desktop computer with jaws. Other than that it's great that books that I can't
find elsewhere are often available on bookshare. It's a great service.

Audio will be an mp3 that is done with their synthesizer, which I do not find

You can pick any iOS voice, or purchase any number of other voices.

Here's a follow up to my question about the Tom voice, we switched on the tom
voice on one of the iphone se phones, and we do like his voice. It doesn't
sound like the Tom from newsline, though it sounds very much like the
automated voice for dish. So far for apps we have newsline and the xm radio app
which we'll install both on the other phones. Also amoungst others today we'll
get seeing ai app. What things does seeing ai do best? Also any other apps to
get right away to begin with? Thank you.- Original Message -

there is a picker item list with different formats for downloading the book.
one is BRF one is audio one is Daisy with text and one is Daisy with images. It
says there are eight format choices but that does not appear to be true. The
question is if I do select audio versus Daisy with text are the fourmats being
downloaded all the same? Meaning does voice dream reader download everything to
a particular format?
I ask because I don't like the cheesy voice for reading the books that I'm
given through voice dream. I would much prefer to listen

to the books with the regular iOS voice that everything on my phone is spoken
through. Is there a way to do that? There does not appear to be a way to do
that. There
is the option to read now in the book opens in Safari and then there's
something about a particular program that's not accessible with speech and then
the book is there but there's no way to move through it even though there's a
next and a previous and stop button at the top of the page. I think you can
swipe line by line but that there's not enough control to make it worthwhile.
Is there an easy way to do what I'm trying to do?

Richard, we have a few questions about the different voices. Is the Tom voice
the same as Tom that is the voice for newsline, and if he is could you use him
as a voice on the phone? Thanks.

RE: Book share an voice dream reader

2018-03-17 Thread Richard Turner
Try going into Voice Dream Settings, Manage my voices, selecting Samantha, then
flick once to the more info button and double tap.
In there, you can set it as your preferred voice, you can adjust the default
speed and other things as well as type in sample text to test the voice.
I just tested Samantha on my phone and she sounded the same as when I am using
VoiceOver.

I normally use Tom Enhanced for VoiceOver and Amy from Ivona for books, because
I like the British accent.

Richard and others,
I have been going to bookshare on the web using my phone and that probably is
where the problem with the cheesy audio voice came through. I've since started
opening up voice dream reader and going to bookshare that way. Either way I
still get the cheesy voice. It does indicate that I have downloaded the book in
Daisy format which is in fact what I chose. I chose audio at one point and I
chose Daisy just to compare it in great hopes that one would give me the voice
I wanted but no such luck. I went to manage voices yesterday and I have
Samantha selected. Samantha on my phone is selected as the default. I never
found an option to set the voice I preferred to the iOS voice and the voice
currently selected in book share is Samantha. They are as different as Night
and day however! It's enough to make me not read the books until I get this
sorted out.

Hi:

I am not sure inVdr when you go to settings you can set vdr to use the voices
that came with your apple device.

When you download the books there is a combo box for the format you want to use.

When you want to use another format you can change it in that combo box.

I hope that helped a little bit.

Have a good day.
