Re: Braille Display Entry Laggy In ios8

2014-09-21 Thread Woody Anna Dresner
Hi, teresa,

Even with automatic braille translation on, pressing dots 4-5-chord can help
get the braille caught up with you. This is particularly true when you type
text and can't press Enter until text entry has caught up. I hope that's of
some help.

Best,
Anna

keystroke to press, and if I have it switched on, it takes awhile for it to
catch up. It's not as responsive as it used to be. It seems that with
automatic translation on, it still shows the buffer on the Braille display,
and sometimes characters simply don't register. I Braille pretty fast, and
it's kind of hard to slow down and still be accurate. My rhythm gets messed
up. :) Has anyone found workarounds for speeding up Braille on the display?
If I turn off automatic translation, how big is the buffer?

2014-09-21 Thread Annie Skov Nielsen
Hi Teresa.

I can write quite fast, but I see the problem, things are looking a little
strange for me too.

I do not have a solution. I like the fact that you can read contracted braille
and write uncontracted if you like, but there are bugs, and I do not know how
to get them corrected as soon as possible.

Best regards Annie.

2014-09-21 Thread Teresa Cochran
Thanks, Anna, that is helpful indeed. I'll give it a try. I like both modes for
different reasons, so I'll play around and see which I like better. I used to
like the ability to review an expanded word to see how it would come out in
print before pressing space, but this is a little more problematic now.

Thanks,
Teresa

Hello, I think I just hijacked a thread with this same question. I don't think
braille is the same here. My Focus 40 lags, won't enter characters and
sometimes freezes in IOS 8 with my iphone 5. Also, there are times I can't use
my enter or backspace
