Enter the password quickly, using a number sign in front of digits and a letter 
sign in front of letters. For symbols, place a dot 4 in front of each.

You can also switch contractions off and use computer Braille.

Just so I'm clear, what dots are you referring to for the number sign and
the letter sign?  

I assume you mean dots 3, 4, 5, 6 for the number sign and dots 5, 6 for the
letter sign but just want to confirm.

Press g-chord to place your Braille display in uncontracted mode. It is easiest 
if you know and use computer Braille. Otherwise, use letter signs, number 
signs, and wait over a second between certain transitions to clear the input 
buffer.

I always leave my braille in grade 2 mode when typing in passwords etc.  Have 
no problems entering passwords using letter signs and number signs.
