Hi,
It isn't free but Blindsquare will do what you want and much more. You
can login to your foursquare account using Blindsquare and will not even
need foursquare installed.

Blindsquare can also auto check you in.

The tips you get when checking in are sometimes useful, and often not,

apps on my phone. Thoughts?

Patrick,
Thanks for the help, that was the issue. If I had no other way, then I
would have deleted Foursquare, but occasionally there are times when I
find it useful too. Good to know I don't have to get rid of it quite
yet.

RE: Deleting Foursquare, using Checkie, and getting badge notifications

2013-08-16 Thread James Homuth
Hello,

If you delete the foursquare app, you should still be able to use Checkie.
You won't get the notifications on your phone, but it should still email you
as that part's handled by the Foursquare system itself. Checkie's a useful
app, with my only complaint being the options of posting your checkins to
Twitter and Facebook don't work with Voiceover. I've already bugged the
developer about that, but other than that, it's pretty much all the benefit
I need from Foursquare with none of the extra stuff I never look at.

2013-08-16 Thread Patrick Neazer
Hello Wayne and all:

I am a fan of foursquare and they do not pay me a dime :)

Have you attempted to clear out the download?

1. double tap on the foursquare app on your phone …. not on the update page in
the app store

2. you should get a message telling you that the download failed and be given
an OK button to click on. double tap the OK button.

3. go back to the app store. the update button should no longer be dimmed.
double tap on the update button and you should be good to go.

Just had this problem last weak and this is how I fixed it.

Hopefully this information proves useful to you. Please let us know.
