Re: Deleting items from music app
This is an excellent explanation. Thank you very, very much. Shannon On Jul 6, 2013, at 9:31 PM, Alan Lemly wale...@gmail.com wrote: Hi, Shannon. I gather that what you can do to manually delete music from your iPod might be controlled by how the music was placed there from iTunes. If iTunes is set up to automatically sync your music, I think this can affect what can be deleted from the device itself. I thought the article at the below link was pretty good at explaining some of this: http://www.ilounge.com/index.php/articles/comments/removing-songs-from-a-man ually-managed-ipod/ If I were trying to remove a large number of tracks from an iDevice, I think I would first go into iTunes, set it up to not allow automatic syncing with iDevices. This is found under Edit, Preferences, and then under the Devices tab in the dialog that opens. Then, I would set up a playlist containing just the tracks I wanted to sync or maybe multiple playlists depending on your situation. Then, I would attach your iPod and while focus is on it within iTunes, select the music button and mark the playlists you want to sync between the computer and the iPod. After you execute the sync button, your iPod should contain the music you want. I hope this makes sense and is accurate. It has worked for me in getting my iPhone set up but I've not used this approach to delete tracks off my iPhone. Hopefully, someone more knowledgeable than me can correct any mistakes I might have made. Good luck. The selecting part works just fine, but it doesn't seem to want to delete from the IPod. It just sits there, but the amount of stuff on the pod doesn't change. Hello Shannon, Make sure that the iPod is set to let you manually add/remove music from it. HTH Sent from my iPad On Jul 6, 2013, at 8:32 PM, Shannon Dyer solsticesin...@gmail.com wrote: Hi, all.
