Hi, I would recommend a fourth or fifth generation watch as well because it will be updated longer. However, VoiceoVer works very well on the third gen as well, so if you get a really good deal, it could be a nice way to find out if you like the watch without spending as much money. Hi Pam, The main things the fifth generation watch has that the fourth doesn't are a built-in compass and the ability to remain on all the time so a sighted person can look at the time without waking the watch.
