I think the point is to use a Gmail account in the first place so that
things automatically get synchronized with Google Reader. If you're using
Google Apps e-mail, this should also work regardless of the network
restrictions.--Joe

Subject: Feeddler set up at Google Reader question

Hi,

I'm setting up a Google Reader account so I can use feeddlerPro.

An email is asked for to sign up for Google Reader. My usual email is on a
secure site requiring an access code through a Virtual Private Network
(VPN). Will this email allow Google Reader and feedlerPro to function
satisfactorily, or should I set up and use a general email account, such as
Gmail?

Appreciate any help.

Thanks in advance. Keith
