disabled. Voiceover will read all books regardless of Text to speech

All the books are supposed to be accessible with VoiceOver. Unless this book

$51.99 it should do the dishes too, grin.

Re: Kindle book cannot be read using iOS Kindle app

2014-12-02 Thread Jane
The Kindle app can't read images. I understand there are some magazines that
offer images of the pages, but you can read a text alternative instead.
Sometimes I guess it can happen with books, where they just take a picture of
the page. ' definitely ask for a refund.

I haven't read for a while but you have a few commands you can do. If you

Re: Kindle book cannot be read using iOS Kindle app

2014-12-01 Thread Gary Petraccaro
I've only seen 1 book out of several hundred where this is true. It was a
cartoon book about cats. What book are you talking about. As an aside, why
when people raise these kinds of questions do they Never give information?

Subject: Kindle book cannot be read using iOS Kindle app

Hello. I only recently began to play around with the Kindle app for iOS. I
bought a couple of books and enjoyed reading them on my iPad. Until today. I
purchased a new book -- published just this year by the Oxford University Press
-- only to find out that it wasn't accessible. From what I can gather, it would
seem to be some sort of image that VoiceOver cannot access. Two questions: 1)
Is this common? 2) Is there some way to know before buying the book if it will
work with the iOS app for the iPad? Thanks very much.

Re: Kindle book cannot be read using iOS Kindle app

2014-12-01 Thread Mary Otten
The book does not need to be text to speech enabled in order to read it on the
Kindle app. I have some books where Amazon says TTS is not enabled, and they
read fine. I have seen problems with the android Kindle app with some books I
bought that turned out to read fine with the iOS app. I have no idea why that
is. But this is the first time I've heard of a book that was not readable with
the iOS app. Would love to know what the book title is.

Well Howard, if I spent that much on a book and couldn't read it, I would
certainly go for a refund.
I tried to get a sample, but it isn't showing up on my app even though I've
gotten samples of other books with no problems.
The try a sample link is just after the buy now link.
Good luck,

Hi,

If I remember right, there is a way to send feedback from within the Kindle
app. I would definitely do this so they will check into the problem and
hopefully fix it.

Best,

that's already been mentioned here, saying voiceover did not support the
