VO often tells me “you have xxx notifications” when I’m on the lock screen. It 
will tell me where they are coming from – phone, Uber, etc, but doesn’t tell me 
what the actual notifications. Just now I double-tapped on a phone notification 
and my phone called the number. This is useless information. Do I have 
something set wrong, or is this really how things are supposed to work? I have 
an iPhone 14 pro with the latest updates.

Maybe check your notification settings because my notifications on the lock 
screen tell me exactly what they are and if it’s a missed phone call then yes, 
if you double tap on it a call will be initated unless you have more than one 
and it’s a group in which case it will open the Phone group and you can then go 
to the different calls. For example, I have my bank notifications set so I see

No, it shouldn't work like that.


Try going into notifications and setting your default notification 
display to list.
