RE: Plantronics voyager Legend headset question

2015-01-16 Thread Merv Keck
Hi,

Having both here side by side I can honestly say it depends on your
preference. Technically the Edge is the newer model, However, the Legend is
a little bigger and a little more comfortable on the ear. Ok let me see if I
can be a little more organized:

Legend:

Pros:

More comfortable on the ear.

No learning curve at all.AC charger.

Cons:

Not much in the way of app support.

Edge

Pros:

Smaller than the Legends and lighter in the ear.

I

food app support. It has two apps that you can use or not use depending on
your choice.

Longer battery life. Six hours instead of seven initially, however, it comes
with a case that you put it in when at rest that will extend it another ten
hours at least. I have only charged it once in over a week.

Cons:

It is smaller and lighter than
the legend, however, it by design has this little plastic loop that is
difficult to put on the ear piece. I still have not found someone who can
get it on. The retired engineer who put it on alleges that when it is on it
won't fit properly in the battery case that extends the charge from six to
sixteen hours.

I worry I'm going to lose the little ear piece when I am in the grocery
store using my Quest which is what I use it with more than my phone.

It does have more of a learning curve than the legend although I figured
everything out eventually. Being newly blind I worry how will I know when to
charge it once I can't read the two 3 segmented status lights. Of course
people who have been blind all their life probably have that figured out
already. I have only been not a high partial a short time. I'm still working
these things out. Last week I went to use my razor and didn't realize the
red charging light had not come on. I'm used to using my eyes to see such
things, sad face!

So right now the little plastic loop is not on and it just sits in the ear
snugly and defies gravity.

No AC Adaptor. I have two laptops and my main laptop is having issues with
the USB drivers so I need to turn on my spare laptop when the thing needs
charged until I figure out how to resolve the driver conflict. I liked the
legend AC charger which was basically a plug with a 3 inch cord and a
magnet. The edge is a micro sd connection 3 inches of cord and a USB
connection. Very inconvenient.

So as you can see it depends on your needs. I tend to need a longer battery
sometimes as I go away in the morning and am gone for 8 hours at a time with
nowhere to charge the beast. So I decided to try the edge. I still have not
figured out what the spouse did to the legend in just 3 days that it will
not unmute, laughs!

Hi there,
Maybe a difficult question to answer here, but which of the two headsets do you
think is the better one, the Edge or the Legend? Asking because i’m thinking of
getting a new bluetooth headset.

Hi,

I have the Edge and it is a very nice ear piece. The battery life is quite a
bit longer than the legend. Although once in a while it needs to be placed
in a battery charge case for a boost. Also it is really small and light
compared to the Legend and the little loop that will hold it on to your ear
in addition to the little rubber part that goes in to your ear makes it
difficult to place it on to the battery booster case for the extended
battery life. Or so the sighted assistance informed me.

We still have not figured out how to get the Legend working again. I am
hoping she did not bend it too far and break it in a way that it is staying
muted permanently or something. I am trying to run it down to dead so I can
charge it all over again and hopefully reset it because I could not reset it
to factory settings any other way, Sad Face! Another nice thing about the
Edge is the Plantronics Hub app that lets me see settings and time remaining
and send a beep to find my headset, Smile!
