RE: Please Join Me in Requesting That the Yelp for iOS Category List View Bug Be Resolved
Thanks Mark. This is what I figured, but I thought I'd ask in case there were an easier/more accessible way to submit a more detailed review with the "regular" iTunes version. Appreciate the follow up. I'll probably deal with this over the weekend. Regards, -Original Message- From: viphone@googlegroups.com [mailto:viphone@googlegroups.com] On Behalf Of M. Second, if, like me, you prefer to write App reviews on a desktop and submit them via iTunes, you can install iTunes 12.6.3. This version does have access to both Apps and the App Store. Below my signature, you will find the text to my original post on this subject. Good Luck, Mark Apple has quietly released iTunes 12.6.3, which reintroduces the ability to download App Store apps and ringtones from within the iTunes desktop software. Apple is making this version of iTunes available because "certain business partners might still need to use iTunes to install apps", but the download is basically available to anyone looking to reinstate the functionality that was removed in iTunes 12.7. If you've already installed a newer version of iTunes, you can download this version of iTunes on your Mac, PC 32-bit or PC 64-bit and run the installer. After installation is complete, you can continue to deploy apps with iTunes. You won't be prompted to download new versions of iTunes after you install this version. Installation packages for Mac and PC (32-bit and 64-bit) are available for download on the support page. After the installation, most users will need to rebuild their iTunes Library. To do this, hold down the Option key when the app launches and in the dialog window that appears choose "Create Library...". Give the new library a name that's different to your existing library, and then migrate over your albums using the Add to Library... option under the Files menu. Apple released iTunes 12.7 in September and said the new version was designed to focus solely on music, movies, TV shows, podcasts, and audiobooks, which was the reason behind the removal of the built-in App Store. Following the change, apps and ringtones could only be downloaded on an iOS device. This special "business edition" of iTunes includes compatibility with iOS 11, iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, and iPhone X. It's not clear how long Apple will offer iTunes 12.6.3, and the company does not provide technical support for this version, but for those who want the functionality it could be a useful makeweight until Apple comes up with an alternative solution. iTunes 12.6.3 can be downloaded from: https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT208079 Original Article at: https://www.macrumors.com/2017/10/09/apple-itunes-with-app-store-included/ -- The following information is important for all members of the V iPhone list. RE: Please Join Me in Requesting That the Yelp for iOS Category List View Bug Be Resolved
Let me ask. For the longest, I'd posted app reviews through my iPhone. However, the other day, I wanted to leave a more detailed description and figured I'd try doing it through iTunes since it involved longer typing. I hadn't done it in forever and with the new iTunes changes, I really couldn't find an easy way per say to search for apps to leave review. I was able to get into my account and see a list of apps I had previously left reviews for, but not really for anything I hadn't yet reviewed or that may be on a secondary page. Is there in fact an easy way to search for apps and leave an app review in iTunes? I'm pretty certain I'm on V 12/7.x or something. That or can one leave a review through the browser bypassing iTunes all together? Thanks, -Original Message- From: viphone@googlegroups.com [mailto:viphone@googlegroups.com] On Behalf Of M. Taylor Sent: Thursday, April 5, 2018 8:27 PM To: viphone@googlegroups.com Subject: Please Join Me in Requesting That the Yelp for iOS Category List View Bug Be Resolved Hello All, I recently posted the following Yelp for iOS review in the App Store regarding a new category list view bug that occurs with or without VoiceOver enabled.. I hope you will add your voice to this request for help by using any or all of it in your feedback to Yelp either on the App Store or via Twitter at: @YelpSupport. Thank you, Mark [BEGIN FEEDBACK]: Subject: Cannot Get the More Button, that Leads to Category View to be Displayed Hello, In the latest version of this app, when location services are enabled, the More button (see attached photo on Twitter), that is supposed to be listed as the last icon in the group of icons near the top of the display, in the Nearby Area, is not showing. Unlike the More tab, located at the bottom of the display, the button in question allows the user to see a complete list of various categories from which to choose. With location services enabled, I have been able to get the More icon to be displayed on my iPhone 7 Plus (Verizon Wireless). However, I cannot get it to be displayed on my 6 Plus (Verizon Wireless), my 6 S Plus (Sprint), or my 8 Plus (AT Wireless) phones. All of my devices are running iOS 11.3. Currently, the only way I can get the More icon to be consistently displayed is to uninstall the app from my phone, reboot the phone, reinstall the app, and electing to not allow location services. Then, and only then, does the More iCon appear in its expected location. The problem is that as soon as I enable location services, the icon disappears. This is an extremely annoying bug that I hope will be resolved as soon as possible. Thank you, [END FEEDBACK]: Mark -- The following information is important for all members of the V iPhone list.
