Re: Question on iPad mini
You know, I don't remember when the iPad one was released. It was when Steve Jobs was there. I purchased mine the following year, right when the iPad 2 came out. The iPad one dropped seriously in price, and I got a good deal from AT&T on one. It is stuck on iOS five point something. Of course it has the old 30 pin connector. It really feels heavy now and thick. How the times have changed. Sent from my iPhone > On Oct 28, 2016, at 1:21 PM, Rajmund wrote: > > When was that even released? And what IOS can it handle? When was that even released? And what IOS can it handle? As for the battery, you can always use it off charge, when the battery goes. Hi Mary, Whoa, OK, yeah, that, I'll give you. I still have my trusty 5S, with a loose, although never dropped screen, as well as the iPad air, so compared to those, mine are slow. Re: Question on iPad mini
You could be right. Believe it or not, I still have an original iPad. Now if you want to talk about slow, that's it. It is useless except for playing audiobooks from audible. That's all I use it for. I'm just waiting for the battery to die. I can't believe it still works after all this time. Well,Rajmund, maybe you are just more patient than I am. It just seems like applications are taking quite a while to open these days, as compared to my iPhone 7 Plus or even the 6S, which I had before I turned it in in favor of the 7+. I am also having a lot of trouble with voice dream reader on my mini two, crashing, slow opening, app freezing, etc. I am not having this problem on my iPhone 7 Plus, and I didn't have it on my iPhone 6s. Of course, I suspect that Ed's grandkids won't be using that app. So, the mini two still works, I just think it's showing it's age. Hi Mary, Interesting. My air, till I downgraded, was just fine on 10, and that's the same age as your mini 2. Wonder why they don't perform the same way? Re: Question on iPad mini
I have a mini too. Now I am sure your grandkids are not going to be using voiceover, and maybe that will help. The mini two is getting slow. It still works, although I feel confident that it has just seen its last update. I feel sure that when the new iOS comes out next year, the mini two will not be on board. Can't prove it of course. I also understand that you probably don't want to buy a really expensive thing for kids, depending on how old they are and how will they take care of stuff. But the mini four should have more years of upgrade in it than the mini twoo, at least one more year. And there might be good deals on that coming down the line. RE: Question on iPad mini
Hi Sieghard, Thanks for the info. Having all that info help me a lot to give information to my daughter in law. She is looking at buying the kids a couple iPad Mini 2. They have new ones at Best Buy for $219.99. There is not a lot of different between the 2,3, and 4. The 2 has a A7 chip and the 4 has an a8. Once again thanks for the info. Re: Question on iPad mini
Yes, the mini four came out last year. But it has the 2014 chip in it, which means it's two years old in terms of its core technology. Hi Ed, They started out with the iPad mini 1. I don't think you will find that though. I believe they started coming out with iPad minis in 2013. I could be wrong. The latest one came out in 2015 called the iPad mini 4. I belie the iPad mini 2 came out in 2014. Have a great day.
