Re: Radio Apps

2018-10-29 Thread Mary Otten
Hi Lee,
There is an app called myTuner. There is also a myTuner Pro, which is the one I
have. I don’t know the differences anymore. But the app doesn’t support Siri
shortcuts. For instance, if there is a station you like, once you have tune to
that station, you can then easily make a Siri shortcut wear from the main
screen, you can just say your shortcut word or phrase, and myTuner opens to
that station and starts playing it.

Re: Radio Apps

2017-06-10 Thread Andy Baracco
I think that MLB has that locked down. Even if you could find a station that
broadcasts the games, you will either find alternative programming or an audio
message saying that due to contract issues they can't stream the game. I know
of alternatives for football, but not for baseball.

Thank you very much for your input. I learned today that since we have

It would be cheaper to subscribe to MLB At Bat. That is $19.99 per year and
you get any team home or away broadcast, through the world series.

To get the Dodgers through TuneIn, you would have to subscribe to the
premium service at $9.99 per month.

So, if you only wanted to listen during one month, then, TuneIn Premium
would be cheaper. You might even be able to time it as part of your free
trial.

Enjoy,

Hello everyone. One of the apps that I really like is radium, so that you can
listen to subscribe services like XM serious etc., however they have not
updated in a long time and I am afraid when iOS updates we will not be able to
use it anymore. Thankfully it appears the serious XM app has now become more
accessible.

Hello,
I just got the pro version because I thought I could set an alarm and have the
radio come on in the morning. I can't figure out how to do this. Can you help?
Thanks

I'm a latecomer to Ootunes, but I'm very impressed. This is how an app
is supposed to work. In addition to the developer being responsive, from
what I understand, the listeners can update the database. They don't do
it directly; they send requests to the developer for station streams.

difference is the free version doesn't let you record and the paid version
does. I don't need to record so the free version works for me.

station.

I remember many were fond of Oo Tunes, but in the app store it doesn't seem as
though it has been updated in a few years... Is this is a good app still?

Are there others people recommend? I basically want a good app to find
stations and listen to them, that's it.

Thanks!

Re: Radio apps

2014-03-08 Thread Teresa Cochran
I'm a latecomer to Ootunes, but I'm very impressed. This is how an app is
supposed to work. In addition to the developer being responsive, from what I
understand, the listeners can update the database. They don't do it directly;
they send requests to the developer for station streams.

I agree with Deb. I don't know if Steve Wooly is the developer, but any
time I email him with a question or suggestion, he's on the ball.answering
and upgrading.

Streams in Ootunes are updated regularly. The app hasn't been changed in
quite some time because it just works and doesn't need fixing.

But the developer works hard to keep the streams updated. It's definitely my
favorite radio app on the phone. I just wish it synced across devices.

Re: Radio apps

2014-03-08 Thread Deb Lewis
Streams in Ootunes are updated regularly. The app hasn't been changed in quite
some time because it just works and doesn't need fixing.
But the developer works hard to keep the streams updated. It's definitely my
favorite radio app on the phone. I just wish it synced across devices.

Hi all,

It's been a little while since I've seen any discussion of favorite radio
apps - I used to use Wunder Radio, but I find it almost useless these days.
Every time I click on a link, it just buffers and buffers and never pulls in
the station.

I remember many were fond of Oo Tunes, but in the app store it doesn't seem
as though it has been updated in a few years. Is this is a good app still?

Are there others people recommend? I basically want a good app to find
stations and listen to them, that's it.

Thanks!

I'm very fond of TuneIn Radio. It is fully accessible, you can search for all
languages, locations, genres and shows, it tells you what you're list ending to
and you can even find out what's next or what's just been plate through the
playlist or schedule. I once copied a URL for an audio described episode of
Downton Abbey from the Blind Mice Mart website and pasted it in to the app and
it worked Pretty well if I kept the website open at the same time. It's free
and that always helps and I strongly recommend it.
