I believe there is a free calculator for the iPad that works well, perhaps double checking with applevis.com will help, but it seems it was called something like HD calculator for iPad. I will check when I get to work to see if I had installed it on that iPad. I never use the calculator on the iPad. I much prefer the size of the phone or touch for that. Actually, the standard calculator is not in scientific mode in portrait mode at all.
