Hi Anne,

And how long does that take you? If I were to do that, it would take at
least five minutes: usable, but clumsy.

Hi Group,

Remember before September of 2023, when the Spectdrum TV app was very straight
forward? It had a main interface where a simgle swipe left or right would move
channel by channel and if the app ws properly configured, VoiceOver would read
the channel number, station name/callsign, and the current program name. Well
that all chaned in September of 2023. They added a lot of junk to the main
screen, hid the channel number and didn't allow anyoen to simplify the
interface to be able to go back to a simple browse by left/right single swipe.
Still, once you got used to using three finger swipes to move from 3 or 4
channel groups to another, you could use the app.

This morning, when I tried tuning into my loca news channel, I got a surprise.
Even the 3 finger swipe to mvoe page to page or channel group to channel group
did not work. I am not sure how I did it, but swiping up/down or double tapping
near the bottom and moving every which way, I was able to find a channel or
two. But this literally took me about five minutes to tune to the desired
channel.

Has anyone experienced this in the past few days and if so, is there any work
around that I am missing or is this the way it is going to be?

Re: Spectrum TV App Made More Inaccessible Within Last Few Days

2024-08-29 Thread David Grossoehme
I don't have Spectrum for my tv service.  However, I've noticed several
of the streaming services going to a menu where you have the guide which
Voice Over say's directory on some.  Once you get into the guide you can
down arrow or swipe depending on whether you are using a phone or Apple
TV Remote.  Then you can set favorites or go to all or movies or
sports.  Once in either of these selections you are placed at the top
everytime you start in the selected item.  Is this what they have done
for you?

Has anyone experienced this in the past few days and if so, is there any work

It looks as if that's the way it's going to be, sorry to say, but the good news
is that accessibility isn't totally screwed up, in fact it's not that bad, once
you dig into the app and take a good look around. . Read on for details.

When I checked the Spectrum TV app just a few minutes ago, I found it to be
exactly as you described. On the Home Tab I went into Settings and found no way
to change the interface. Back in the Live tab, I had to do a 3-finger swipe
up/down to move among channel groups. So, in order to get to channels 65
through 75 I'd 3-finger swipe down several times until Voiceover told me what
group I'd navigated to. Okay, so I then would 3-finger swipe left to get to the
time slot that I wanted, say the time slot for 7 o'clock. I then could flick
through that group listing to see if Sports Net L.A. is showing tonight's
Dodgers game. It is; the Dodgers play Baltimore. Each 3-finger swipe left/right
would move you by half-hour increments. Now that I figured all this out, I was
able to navigate much easier then when I first glanced at the revised app.
Another thing that annoyed me was that channel numbers weren't displayed in the
group listing. So, if I didn't already know that Sports Net L.A. is on channel
68, who knows how long I'd have to mess around in order to find it, which is a
royal pain in the behind. . However, those additional onscreen controls do
help. The More Options button gives you the option to search for a channel by
name. In my case, I did a search for Sports Net LA HD, found and double-tapped
it, then in the resulting screen I found the network schedule option,
double-tapped that and lo and behold, there's a nice orderly chronological
listing for anything going on in channel 68. Indeed, I was able to confirm that
the Dodgers game is at 7 PM tonight. Continuing to flick through the schedule,
I could also see what's happening tomorrow and everything else until September
9.
Other controls include Filters, the aforementioned More Options button,
Minimize Video, Unmute Audio, Expand to Full Screen and a More controls button.

I'll cut this short, as I have other stuff to tend to at the moment.
Hope this helps you.

Tom

Re: Spectrum TV app - Apple TV

2020-04-29 Thread Ed Worrell
Hello Peter,

Currently there is no way to sort numerically. I have been asking for this for
the last 6 months with Spectrum tech support. To change the way channels are
sorted: navigate to the left and when VoiceOver reads the station channel and
call letters click and hold on the SIRI remote track pad. This will pop-up
options to sort the channels.

I hope this helps.

Re: Spectrum TV App

2019-01-05 Thread Jim Fettgather
Hello, the only way I have now found to silence the sound while Live TV is
playing is to activate one of the other tabs on the bottom of the screen, such
as Guide.
At least for me, with the iPhone in portrait mode, this silences the audio.
Not the best solution, but it seems to work every time.
Thanks.

I recently signed up for the Spectrum app and find it fairly easy to navigate.
I love that I can pick my favorite channels and then see what is currently
playing on each in a list.

I also like that I can choose a program on my phone and then choose to play it
on the living room TV!

What I can’t figure out is how to make the app stop playing a choice. When I
go to a tab for example Live TV, it immediately starts playing the audio from
some station, probably the last one I was watching. I can go through the list
and if I choose something it will replace the audio I hear from the previous
one. But it won’t go silent. Even when I choose to play it on the living room
TV the phone still keeps playing the audio and it is a second or so off from
the audio from the actual TV.

I have been using a work around of closing the app in the app switcher when
watching on the TV but want to know how to silence the app.

Thousands of programs, and they are very very easy to find and to play

Hello, you are indeed correct that while watching live TV, you can switch to
the secondary audio channel.

I have not found a way to do this while watching a program from the DVR, nor
have I found any fast forward controls.

I’m using the latest Spectrum app on an iPhone with IOS 12.

There is a bit of a problem with the guide.

You can easily scroll through the guide for any given channel, then tap on
network schedule for that channel.

The programs are listed, but Voiceover does not announce the times of the day
that programs are airing. It just simply says Time,, the name of the program,
but then if you elect to record the program, the times are then announced
correctly.

I like the app pretty well, but there some definite improvements that could be
made.

Thanks.

RE: Spectrum TV App

2019-01-04 Thread Sherrie Gosling

I do have a DVR box, and you can get on demand from that box, but it also works
delightfully well right from with in the app.
Thousands of programs, and they are very very easy to find and to play
immediately, either on your phone, or through the DVR box.

Thanks for the response …  Do you still have the traditional DVR box?  Just
wondering as if you are doing “on demand”, there isn’t normally a SAP channel
for that .. which is another topic all together …

2016-08-30 Thread Rob
I am sure it is like all other cable providers in that you have to have an
account subscription with the provider to use the app.

The merger of Time Warner and Charter will take several months if not years to
roll out to all areas. I am very sure you will know when Charter services come
to your town.

Hello,

Has anyone had any experience with this app? I just recently subscribed to the
Spectrum Stream which is Charter’s answer to Sling TV. The app is pretty
accessible, and with at least TBS it has the ability to swap to the Spanish SAP
feed and get video description. It doesn’t seem to be able to do the same for
the local networks. So, trying to find out if it’s Charter not doing this in
the app .. or my local channels not passing it on. Just wondering if anyone
else has used this app and if they are getting the DVS feeds ..

Thanks ...
