Re: Taptapsee and braille
Alan, I understand your concern. However, I must tell you that all of the additional features that we created in TapTapSee were a result of user feedback. The rotor bar is something that has been requested for several months. The same goes for the flash toggle that we've added to the app. Since our first release we've only added features that the users requested. At this time, we are looking to continue improving the functionality and quality of the app itself, rather than adding more buttons. Since our first beta tests with some of the members of the local Braille institute we learned that our app needs to continue to stay clean and minimalistic. We plan on sticking to that mantra. Therefore, I assure you that we will not destroy TapTapSee by over-saturating it with more buttons. :) I hope I was able to resolve some of your concerns. Hi, The new taptapsee works great. I just hooked up my braille display, and the braille bar is exactly what was needed. The speech history method works great too. I was peripherally aware of this feature but had never used it. My deaf-blind users are going to love it. Thanks, Erik Burggraaf Ebony Consulting will close it's doors for good on december 20th. Re: Taptapsee and braille
Hello Dmitriy, I'm a little concerned here. Tap Tap See was a great app. It even won app of the year I believe. My concern is don't throw the baby out with the bath water. Developers love to make improvements and on the face of it, that's great. I would like to propose two versions. One could be called Tap Tap See Basic. This could be the version we all knew and loved and what put the app on the map. The new version might be called Tap Tap See More. In other words, if it 'ain't broke don't fix it. Please take this as just my being uncomfortable due to the fact many apps start out being great. Then this, that, and the other feature gets added on. then a really great app turns into something you spend more time fooling around with then actually using. --- Regards, Alan Go Chicago Bears in 2013! Re: Taptapsee and braille
I haven't tested the app much. I'll say this though: if the app speaks a result and it flashes on the display, you cna toggle a history of such announcements with space-n. That might allow you to review the results, but again I'm not sure. RE: Taptapsee and braille
Hi Eric, As far as I can tell Tap Tap See only speaks the results and you can repeat it by tapping the Repeat button, but I don't think it is displayed on the screen where you could review it either with Voiceover or by using a braille display. It never occurred to me why this might be important and it's probably something you should suggest to the developer. Unfortunately, I can't find the results of a lookup using my braille display. That renders the app pretty useless for the deaf-blind. Am I missing something?
