Re: Thumb drives with the iPod touch 6?
You might want to take a look at the Kingston Mobile Lite Wireless. It's app is pretty usable using VoiceOver. I needed to write to the developers, as I've been recently having a weird problem where anything liI click on to play doesn't play right away. It's being added to a Q, and I can't seem to access that cue to get rid of the tracks in it and instead play what I tap on. I hope this makes sense. I'm sure there's got to be a way to do it, I just haven't figured out how yet. This started sort of recently, so I think an app update cause this to happen. Either that or I changed something in settings and didn't know about it. Or started the Q somehow and didn't realize it. Other than this problem, and I'll admit, it seems like a big one right now, everything works great with this wireless drive. Any of these thumb drives which are also at least double the price of a regular USB stick of the same size, require you to use their app to play any of the content. Just like when you have a music folder in Dropbox, you have to use the Dropbox app (at least here there are other app choices due to the popularity of Dropbox) but the stock music app won't access any content from Dropbox and the same goes for these thumb drives with Lightning connector. be able to -Original Message- From: viphone@googlegroups.com [mailto:viphone@googlegroups.com] On Behalf Of Russ Kiehne Sent: Sunday, November 29, 2015 7:02 AM To: viphone@googlegroups.com Subject: Re: Thumb drives with the iPod touch 6? Hi, I have a Lacie Fuel. It's a external hard drive with an own wifi network with password protection. Capacity: 500 GB. You need to use the app seagatemedia, which is pretty good accessible. Price (I'm not sure): 200 euro. Richard and group: Thanks for the info about thumb drives. I checked out the hypershop site you mentioned; then I did an Amazon search for "lightning thumb drives for iOS" and they have lower prices. RE: Thumb drives with the iPod touch 6?
In truth the only real advantage is if you want to avoid iTunes because these drives allow you to transfer files from PC to iPhone, iPad or iPod without having to use iTunes. The iStick I have is completely accessible and easy to use but you will need the app to use it and the app can be found in the app store. By the way, the the transfer is done by means of a copy and paste method. Re: Thumb drives with the iPod touch 6?
I suppose a wifi drive is password protected and is as secure - I know this is a relative term! - but as secure as one's broadband router? I like how generic this idea is. I'll have to go look for one of those now, but recommendations from existing users would be appreciated. RE: Thumb drives with the iPod touch 6?
This is good to know. However, you have to spend quite a lot to get this kind of item. So, unless you truly don't want to use iTunes to get files onto your device, you could buy a new iPod Touch for the price of some of these lightening thumb drives. Here is a link to an article on 9 to 5 mac comparing several thumb drives. http://9to5mac.com/2015/03/20/the-best-iphoneipad-usb-flash-drives-with-lightning-connectors/ Richard -Original Message- From: viphone@googlegroups.com [mailto:viphone@googlegroups.com] On Behalf Of Russ Kiehne Sent: Sunday, November 29, 2015 7:02 AM To: viphone@googlegroups.com Subject: Re: Thumb drives with the iPod touch 6? iStick, iFlash, and I think Kingston all do pen drives or thumb drives with a Lightening connector at the opposite end to the standard usb connector. iStick and iFlash both seem to have accessible apps to use the material on said drives. - Original Message - From: "Lois" To: Sent: Sunday, November 29, 2015 2:38 AM Subject: Thumb drives with the iPod touch 6? No, you cannot connect a thumb drive to an iPod Touch 6th. At least, nothing I have heard of and I bought one a couple months ago.
