RE: Transferring Data from Phone to Phone?

2021-12-30 Thread Alan Lemly
Fazil,

Depending on the extent at which you’ve set up your new iPhone, I think you
should start over by erasing all content and settings and beginning again. This
time when the phone restarts after everything is erased, you’ll press the side
power button three times quickly to activate Voiceover. You should then be
taken through the new phone setup screens Simon keeps referencing in his posts
and you apparently don’t understand what he means. To erase all content and
settings and revert your phone to what it was when taking it brand new out of
the box, go to Settings, General, Transfer or reset iPhone which will be the
next to last item on the screen. After double tapping on Transfer or reset
iPhone, the last item on the screen will be Erase all content and settings
which will return your iPhone to what it was when brand new. You should be
prompted to do the quick setup Simon has been mentioning where you hold your
old iPhone near your new one in order to transfer its content to the new one.

Good luck.

Thanks much, Simon.

Actually, the girl in the store started the phone to complete the paperwork
process and she asked me whether I want to transfer data? I said, don’t worry
about it, I’d take care of it.

When I came home, I could not connect it with iTune because I did not have the
correct plug to connect the phone to the computer.

Secondly, I could not start Voiceover because in the store, the girl asked me
to start accessibility, I thought she was asking about Voiceover.

So, Voiceover was not there. A sighted friend started voiceover.

Now I do not have those option of setting up the phone.

How can I transfer the data now?

I have paid iCloud, can it help?

Thanks!

Hi Fassle,

Yeah at the start of the phone set up,

It will ask you if you wish to do the quick setup or manual,

If you choose the quick then it will give you prompts as to what to do,

That’s the way I’ve setup my last 4 phones.

It’s a feature that has been in the system since IOS 11

Just follow the promptes the first of which is to hold the camera of one phone
over the symbol of the other

And listen to what it says.

Good luck and I hope you get it working

Hi.

I always set up my new iPhone with iTune, I, however, did not do it with my
iPhone12 because I did not have proper adapter to connect the device to my
Windows desktop.

I heard that we can transfer data from phone-to-phone by putting them
side-by-side, is this true?

If yes, how can it be done, please?

Thanks!

On the screen that comes up after you select your country
The first option should say accessibility
But on that same page should be the maunual and quick setup,

Select the quick setup.

And listen to the prompts for what you need to do step by step.

Hi Fassle,

Hey the only thing you need a cable for now with your iPhone is to charge it
from a mains power supply

You don’t need it to setup or activate your phone like you use to.

When you have voiceover running on the new device,

Just follow the prompts and it will tell you what you need to know.

It’s pretty easy,
You shouldn’t have any issues with it.

The quick setup option is on I think the forth screen after you have voiceover
running,
So the first being choose your language
Then your country,
And then it’s a screen with options for accessibility or the quick setup /
manual setup,

Good luck and you should have all the answers you need on this list,

And once you have set the phone up,
You will have the answers to share.

Subject: Transferring Data from Phone to Phone?

Thanks!

You’re going to have to delete and restore to factory. Once voiceover is
activated by pressing the Side button 3 times, and when you have the previous
IPHone nearby, it’ll ask if you want to transfer from the old to the 12. Good
luck!

Re: Transferring data

2021-01-08 Thread Ann

Hi,

I had to first get my phone to update to IOS14, which is what the old
phone had. After that, I erased everything and re-started the setup
process, and it transferred most of everything important in about 4
minutes, even my contacts, folder structures, etc.

It's awesome!

Guess I'll find out soon if data transfers while it's auto locked. the old

Re: Urgent questions re transferring data from an IPad Mini 3 to an IPad Mini 4 - any help/advice much appreciated

2016-01-07 Thread Woody Anna Dresner
Hi Eleanor,

The easiest thing would be to update the Mini 3 to iOS 9.2 and then do another
iCloud backup. Then restore the new iPad from the Mini 3 backup.

Best,
Anna

Re: PTA Urgent questions re transferring data from an IPad Mini 3 to an IPad Mini 4 - any help/advice much appreciated

2016-01-07 Thread Woody Anna Dresner
Hi Eleanor,

You don't need to reset the Mini 3. Go to Settings/General/Software Update, and
follow the prompts to update to iOS 9.2. Then go to Settings/iCloud/Backup and
back up your iPad. Then you can restore the new iPad from that backup.

Best,
Anna

Hi Eleanor,

Sorry, I misunderstood. On the 4, choose Erase All Content and Settings. Then
go through the setup process again and restore from the Mini 3 backup.

2016-01-07 Thread 'Eleanor Roberts' via VIPhone
Hi

The Mini 3 was already running IOS 9.2 - it was my new Mini 4 that, to my
surprise, was only running IOS 9. So I have a 9.2 back-up from my Mini 3, but
how would I now go about transferring the back-up onto the Mini 4 now. That I
have upgraded the Mini 4 to 9.2?

2016-01-07 Thread 'Eleanor Roberts' via VIPhone
Hi all

Am really hoping someone might be able to help me here. I collected my new IPad
Mini 4 today and have been trying to set it up all evening, but it's not gone
without its hitches.

My main concern has been/is ensuring that all my data came across successfully
from my IPad Mini 3 (which I'll be selling to a friend once I've cleared it),
to my new IPad. So I was advised to set up my new IPad from my latest ICloud
back-up of the old one. However, when I came to do this my Mini 4 told me that
it didn't have the latest IOS system on it (I.e. 9.2) so couldn't accept the
back-up from my Mini 3! The only thing it'd let me do is set the device up as a
new IPad and then update the IOS system. So does anyone know if there's now a
way I can transfer the latest ICloud back-up of my Mini 3 onto my Mini 4??

Also, I want to make sure that all my ringtones come across successfully, as I
have spent a long time building up my collection and don't want to lose them
all/have to get them all again. So what's the best way of doing this?? Would it
be through my Mac? If so, could someone give me some instructions on/remind me
how to do this??

Thirdly, what's the best way/how do I ensure that all my photos, contacts and
music have all come across safely??

So sorry for all the questions, but I want to make sure I've done everything I
need to and that it's all work before I clear my Mini 3. So any
help/advice/hints/tips anyone can give to assist me with this really would be
very much appreciated.

Many thanks.

Eleanor

Re: PTA Urgent questions re transferring data from an IPad Mini 3 to an IPad Mini 4 - any help/advice much appreciated

Hi. Thanks for that information. So, having just looked under settings on the
IPad, would the reset I need be the one that says "reset network settings", or
the one that says "erase all"?
