2017-03-13 Thread Connie Mohney
Hello Richard,
I'm running version 38.2
Since I know 38.3 works I will update. Perhaps the album I'm listening to has
different parts and I need to select the entire album? I do have wifi. Thank
you.

What version are you running?
Are you on wifi?
The latest Dropbox fixed the VoiceOver issues.
Version 38.3.

Certainly you can use the same apple id for a bunch of devices, like many of us

Good evening all,
Can I use the same iTunes account for my iPod touch5th generation and my
iPhone 6?
A couple of months ago, I was told how to set my iPhone and iPod separately
so, if I put music on mhy iPod it wouldn't go onto my iPhone because I was
running out of space on my phone. What do I need to do to make it so if I
put music or get an app for my iPhone it automatically goes onto my iPod? I
hope I haven't made these questions to confusing. Thank you.

thanks so much for this info. I did not realize if I changed the subject that
it was still hijacking and I apologize for the error. I will try once again to
post directly to the list and if it does not work I will indeed contact the
owner. I am fairly new to this list so don’t want to get off on the wrong foot
since I find it a very useful and informative list. It seems I never stop
learning new things with the I devices.
As I told Gene I did indeed accidently move the mute switch and it is the first

Subject: Two questions please

Hi Marie,

I started a new thread with the same subject as yours since if you replied to a
different message and changed the subject you are doing what on mailing lists
is called “thread hijacking” and which is considered to be very poor etikette.

There is a mute switch on your phone. It is located above the volume buttons
and you can flick it either towards the back of the phone or pull it forward
towards the side where the touch screen is. You most likely flicked that switch
to the Mute position which is towards the back of the phone. If you unlock your
phone before you try this, Voiceover will tell you “Muted” or “Unmuted”. There
is also a brief vibration if the switch is pushed into the mute position, if
you pull it forward to unmute the phone it will not vibrate.

You might be able to upgrade to 8.1 via iTunes and require less space than if
you try and upgrade on your iPhone directly. You would just have to try it, if
there is not enough space iTunes will tell you.

Coming back to your not being able to post to the list, are you sure you are
sending your messages from the email address you are subscribed with? If you do
and it doesn’t work, I would send a message directly to Raul, the moderator,
and ask if he knows why your messages don’t get posted.

Raul just posted a public warning today when somebody else hijacked a
thread/topic and change the subject to something completely unrelated.

People who read by conversation will suddenly come across a completely
different message with has nothing to do with the original topic. I put Raul’s
email below and you should definitely write to him since if you continue to
reply to other threads and change the subject he might put you on moderated
status. Here is the email address:

r...@raulgallegos.com

Regards,

Sieghard

Did you press the mute switch by mistake?
Check to see if the phone is muted.

Hello Marie. When you respond to message and write your own message that is
called a thread hi Jack. That is not encouraged on the list. And you're below
message you clearly have done that, you have explained why you did it because
of the problems posting a new message to the list. My suggestion is that you
should try posting a new message again and if you get an error message, please
forward it to me. You want to be sure that you were posting from the same email
address that you wrote below, and you want to make sure that you were posting
to the correct email address. The address is viphone@googlegroups.com so if you
send me the error message you get, I can investigate further. Thanks much and
good luck.

Hi,

Re your iOS updating question, less space is required if you update
through iTunes, so it's definitely worth giving this a go.

Cheers,
Ben.

Did you catch the mute switch by accident? This is on the left hand side of the
phone if you're holding it with the home button at the bottom.
