RE: Urgent, yahoo mail?

2019-10-20 Thread sherrywells1157
I have an old email from Ameritech that I just use for stores & restaurant
coupons & announcements. I frequently get these messages from Yahoo telling me
I need to recertify my email or it will be stopped. I had one saying they were
holding emails until I recertified. I have never clicked on these emails & I
continue to get emails on this account. Some of the emails telling me I have
to update or recertify immediately have spelling or grammar errors. I would
ignore these emails. Call your provider if possible or switch to another email
that doesn't seem to have these issues like gmail for one.

Definitely sounds like a hoax, if she checks the email this message actually
came from it would most likely be clear.
Having said this, nobody in my opinion should use Yahoo for their email, I have
never seen so many security issues or read about so many security problems with
Gmail or Outlook.com as I have with Yahoo mail. Almost always when I get an
email from somebody I know which are some sort of spam they have a Yahoo
account, you know, the kind where it says "Hey, I'm on holiday in France and
all my stuff was stolen, can you please send me some money".

Hi, asking for a friend. She got a message from yahoo that they were changing
their mail and if she didn't login to Yahoo and change her mail she would be
suspended. She wants to know if this might be a hoax. If anyone has any info
about this help is appreciated. She must fix it by tomorrow so it is urgent.
Thanks.

2019-10-19 Thread Arlene
Robert, just a few days ago, the moderator of a yahoo group knit list I'm on
told us she was going to have to close the group due to yahoo closing the
uploading of files to the file space of the group space. Right now she's just
thinking about running the new group from her email, but possibly she'll go to
another server.

  Hi,

I think it's very likely to be a hoax. I've been getting similar messages
that are supposed to be from Yahoo, but when I checked one yesterday, it was
sent from a non-Yahoo address. I would suggest that your friend log into their
account on the web, not by following a link in the message but by going to
yahoo.com or whatever their email address is. they can check on that page to
see if there's actually a problem.

  Best,
