Hi,

When you have the compass app open, you can swipe to the bottom of the screen.  
There you will find where you can flick up or down to toggle from the compass 
to the level and vice versa.

The compass is probably in a folder that you didn't create. I think it is 
called Utilities or something. It is a default folder.
Once you open a three finger swipe from right to left will switch to the level.
You could also use the spotlight search to find the compass.
