HI, No, I didn't. It was actually a volume issue. the volume had been reduced to such a low level i couldn't hear it, smile. All sorted now though. Thanks for your reply/suggestion. Re: I phone 4S not announcing the name of incoming caller?
Donna, In theory, when announce notifications in lock screen is turned off, then you will not be told when new things come in. This is as it should be. If you want to hear the announcements, then turn this switch control on, and everything will be announced whether it be a text, phone call or voicemail, or other notification. Also, I forgot to note in my earlier message that I have an iPhone 5 and have still experienced this behavior, so not sure it is just on the 4S. I also have iOS 7.0.4, for what that's worth. Re: I phone 4S not announcing the name of incoming caller?
I get the same behavior when a text message comes in, and my speak notifications in lock screen is also turned off. From what i can tell, the alert noise goes off, VoiceOver starts reading the message, the person's name, and then the notice that a notification has come in. After I am told it is a notification, nothing else is read. This doesn't happen on every message but I have noticed it more often in recent days. RE: i phone 4s
Hi Kevin, Connect your iPhone to your computer and open iTunes. Go to your device and tab until you get to the Restore button. You can do a full restore and if you really want to start from scratch, then set up your phone as a new device, this will put it back to how it came from the factory. \However, this means you have to reinstall all your apps and sync all your music again, also you will have to set up any email accounts again, re-enter passwords such as for WiFi and so on. Depending on how much content you had on your phone it can be a real piece of work and take you a few hours, but your phone will be perfectly reset and there are situations where any issues may show up again if you simply do a restore and then back up from a backup you did before. Re: i phone 4s, trying ot transfer music
Hi Anthony, Yes, individual albums are listed. If you plan to transfer a lot of music, though, I would recommend putting that music into playlists, or one big playlist, so that if you need to load the music again, it will be easy to do. Re: i phone 4s, trying ot transfer music
Hi Andy, Turn on iTunes, and then connect your iPhone to your computer. Find the iPhone in the iTunes source list - the list with Music, iTunes Store, and various other things. Press Tab. You're in a multi-page dialog box. You'll find various items reported as radio buttons; these are tab controls that open various parts of the dialog box. Tab until you reach Music, and then press Enter to select it. Keep tabbing past the other controls, and you'll come to controls to determine how you'll manage your music. If your iTunes library is small enough, you can sync the whole thing. Otherwise, choose to sync selected playlists. If you choose the latter, there will be several tables. The first shows all your playlists, the next shows all your artists, and I believe there are tables with genres and individual songs. Check the ones you want on your phone, tab to Apply, and wait for your music to be copied. If you tab long enough, you'll reach an LCD section that reports the progress of the sync.
