None of the keyboards are terribly new. Two of them are bluetooth, one
is from Rocketfish and the other is from HP. The two wired keyboards are
a Microsoft Ergonomic keyboard and the Das Keyboard.

I also had some cheap Logitech wired keyboards and I don't think they had a

I just checked four keyboards around my house and they all had two Windows

None of them are terribly new though.

I only tried it once and it seemed to work just fine, but of course given all
the options of bluetooth keyboards out there I don't see much point in using
this adapter and a wired USB keyboard.

RE: pluggable blue tooth keyboard

2018-08-24 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
The K811 is an iOS/Mac specific bluetooth keyboard without numeric pad. The
K780 is more or less a full-size keyboard with numeric pad although it is a bit
more compact overall , but it does have the numeric pad on the right and it is
also quite heavy since it has a groove across the top where you can stand up
you riPhone or even an iPad which of course is primarily a feature for sighted
people. Because an iPad needs a bit of counter weight, Logitech has made the
keyboard quite heavy.
Lastly, the K780 can be used in bluetooth mode, but it also comes with a USB
dongle so if you want to use it with a desktop computer which doesn’t have
integrated bluetooth you can do so. Both support up to 3 devices as most of
these types of Logitech keyboards do.

RE: pluggable blue tooth keyboard

2018-08-24 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
I have a Lightning to USB adapter and it works with any USB keyboard Ihave
tried both wired and also my full-size Logitech wireless keyboard which have a
USB dongle. However, I also think a bluetooth keyboard like the Logitech K811,
K780 or K480 is the way to go. Of course there are others out there, I have
personally used the K780 and K811 and know a lot of people who use the K480.

Hello Lena, to the best of my knowledge they do not sell any keyboards that
plug-in to the iPhone. If you’re looking for a keyboard for your iPhone you
will have to get a Bluetooth keyboard if you wish you may talk to me off list

Re: pluggable blue tooth keyboard

2018-08-23 Thread Marie
I guess that shows that old dogs can learn new tricks. I have been a PC user
since the eighties and never owned a keyboard with two Windows keys. But
then, of course there was no Windows OS when I began using computers.

Thanks for that info and even at my age, learning new things is great.

Hi Marie,

Keyboards used to have two Windows keys, but most of them don't any more. I
have two who do, one is a Logitech mechanical gaming keyboard and the other
is a Microsoft wireless keyboard, can't remember what model it was, but it
was a keyboard/mouse combo and a very nice keyboard with one exception: the
function keys are these small little things which are lower than the numer
row in front of them and they have no spaces between them at all, they are
maybe half an inch long but are only maybe a quarter of an inch top to
bottom so very strange and for that reason I dislike the keyboard. If it
weren't for that it might be my favourite or close t it.

Sieghard

To my knowledge, no keyboard has two Windows keys. The one on the left is
the Windows key and the one on the right is is the context key which brings
up the context menu similar to a right mouse click.

Re: pluggable blue tooth keyboard

2018-08-23 Thread Christopher Chaltain
I just checked four keyboards around my house and they all had two
Windows keys. They're all desktop keyboards, with one being bluetooth.
None of them are terribly new though.

RE: pluggable blue tooth keyboard

2018-08-22 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
Hi Marie,

Keyboards used to have two Windows keys, but most of them don't any more. I
have two who do, one is a Logitech mechanical gaming keyboard and the other is
a Microsoft wireless keyboard, can't remember what model it was, but it was a
keyboard/mouse combo and a very nice keyboard with one exception: the function
keys are these small little things which are lower than the numer row in front
of them and they have no spaces between them at all, they are maybe half an
inch long but are only maybe a quarter of an inch top to bottom so very strange
and for that reason I dislike the keyboard. If it weren't for that it might be
my favourite or close t it.

Regards,
Sieghard
