RE: sending and receiving audio messages with SIRI on IOS 14

2020-10-05 Thread Richard Turner
That seems really strange.
I know you know this, but did you clear out your app switcher and reboot?

That, or this feature is not liked by the iPhone 8.

I was using my SE 2020.

Well, I did what Richard did and asked SIRI to send an audio mnessage to
myself, it asked me to record the message and when I stopped speaking the
message got sent, but asking SIRI to play it won't work and on my iPhone 8 when
I double tap on the message the Messages app simply closes and boots me back to
the home screen.
When I am in the conversation and bring the phone to my ear I hear the tone
indicating it's again recording and I can record another message, but that one
doesn't seem t send automatically and I have to tap Send, but when it arrives
and I tap on it the same thing happens, Messages closes and I'm back on the
home screen.
It seems the same thing even happens when I turn off Voiceover and try to tap
on it, I just did this and nothing happened and when I turned Voiceover back on
I was on the home screen.

I Send a test audio message using Siri to myself.
Lifting the phone to my ear did not play it.
Tapping on the message and flicking I discovered the following phrase,
Your iMessage, Audio message, 7:15 AM three seconds Button.
Double tapping on that button played the message.
If you ask Siri to read or play your message it just says so-and-so sent a
message pause and then it says do you wanna reply. No playing of the audio
message.

He should check his setttings, messages, to see if Raise to Listen is on.
That means when you get an audio message, you raise the phone and it should
start playing.
Though he should be able to tap on the attached audio message to play it I
think.
