RE: two totally unrelated questions

2019-03-09 Thread Carolyn Arnold
I definitely dictate all punctuations in my text messages. Right, that Siri
does not say them, but, as you say, you can tell by Siri's voice inflexions
that they are there.

Here is something I'd like to know. So, I send my granddaughter a text and at
the end say, Love, Grandma, smiley face with sunglasses. There is an emoji like
that. Would Siri put the emoji or say smiley face with sun glasses. She reads
my granddaughter's heart on hers.

Best regards,

Carolyn

Hi. I have two questions that are totally unrelated. First, what do those
speaking British English call the punctuation mark period. I’m using the
Austrailian Siri voice in order to get rid of the voice mail transcription
stuff. When I use Siri to dictate a text she always uses the word “period” but
I’m not sure she puts the actual punctuation at the end of the sentence.

Next off the wall question. I generally don’t carry my phone in a pocket, but

somewhat warm. Is this normal? Does this cause the battery to drain faster?

I don't know about Richard's wife, but I crocheted mine, crocheted pouches for
my phone and Victor Reader Stream, so I can get clothes out of dryer, do dishes
and other tasks with devices hanging on me and use PRN.

You could make one out of sturdy cloth or quilted cloth. Sometimes I put my
phone around my waist, which means I have to slip it down and tie off the
strap. Usually, I wear it cross over.

It wil be interesting to hear about Richard's.

You do not have to change the Siri Voice.

If you look at the Siri settings, there is one for Voice, and one for language.

It is the language that needs changing. It has no affect on the speech output.

Well let's see.
I am dictating this with Siri is set to Australian language.
And I'm using the word period for.
So let's see what happened.
of course, the punctuation word just created the punctuation so I did have to
edit and spell out the word period.

RE: two totally unrelated questions

2019-03-09 Thread Paul and Paula Jordan
Thanks. I meant to say that I changed the language, not the voice. Anyway,
I’ll try saying “full stop” just to see what happens.

As for the phone feeling warm, the screen is locked when it’s in my pocket.
What material did your wife use to make the sling for your phone?

God bless!

You do not have to change the Siri Voice.

If you look at the Siri settings, there is one for Voice, and one for language.

It is the language that needs changing. It has no affect on the speech output.

Re: two totally unrelated questions

2019-03-09 Thread Mary Otten
I wonder if changing the Siri language to Australia or United Kingdom English
would affect how Siri understands you, however. Would you have to try to speak
in the accent whose language you selected? I know it really messes up if you
have it set to Russian and speak English. Been there, done that, it’s not
pretty.

Heat is a battery's worst enemy.
If it is getting warm, is it on?
I have a pouch I wear over my shoulder that my wife made, so I don't have to
try and get it out of a pocket.
It never gets warm.
