Bard has the Meditation for Fidgety Skeptics book. It's the commercial
version and is read by Dan Harris. He gives the url for accessing the
meditations pretty close to the start of the book. Here is a link,

Thank you for this. I have yet another beginners question about the
 10% Happier app.

I mistakenly subscribed to their additional content and then
rescinded that subscription through iTunes. It's a single annual
purchase fee, not weekly or monthly. I was just unwilling to commit
to the roughly $100 purchase before using the app for quite some
 time.

Is there enough standard content available without additional
content purchase that's useful enough that I should continue using
the app? If later on I do purchase the additional content
subscription, is that content VoiceOver accessible? (I found that
for HeadSpace, subscription content is not accessible.)

My exploration of the app still hasn't shown me there's much
standard content available. But, it's early in my exploration.

 Thanks so much.

 Hello,

A few days ago, we were talking about meditation apps, and I
mentioned 10% Happier. They released an update today that fixes a
lot of accessibility issues. I haven't played with it long enough to
know whether everything is accessible, but it's definitely much
easier to see what courses are available, choose one, and choose a
particular meditation. I'm thrilled that the developers are taking
 accessibility seriously.

 Best,
 Anna

My exploration of the app still hasn't shown me there's much standard

 Hello,

A few days ago, we were talking about meditation apps, and I mentioned 10%
Happier. They released an update today that fixes a lot of accessibility
issues. I haven't played with it long enough to know whether everything is
accessible, but it's definitely much easier to see what courses are
available, choose one, and choose a particular meditation. I'm thrilled
that the developers are taking accessibility seriously.

 Best,
 Anna

Hi Anna,
I did read that book on audible. I suppose the book came out before the app.
Where did you go to find a code?

2018-09-23 Thread Anna Dresner
Hi,

The Meditation Basics course is free, and if you get the book Meditation for
fidgety Skeptics from Audible, you get a code which makes its content free.
There are also free samples from a lot of the meditation courses. There may be
more, but that's what I know about.

Best,

2018-09-23 Thread Kimberly

The subscription content is quite accessible. I subscribe not long after the
app was discussed here on this list and have been working my way through the
meditation basics ever since.

One thing I can tell you is that several of the meditations available in the
app are also available on YouTube.

RE: 10% Happier meditation app much more accessible than before

2018-09-23 Thread Richard Petty
Anna,

Thank you for this. I have yet another beginners question about the 10% Happier
app.

I mistakenly subscribed to their additional content and then rescinded that
subscription through iTunes. It's a single annual purchase fee, not weekly or
monthly. I was just unwilling to commit to the roughly $100 purchase before
using the app for quite some time.

Is there enough standard content available without additional content purchase
that's useful enough that I should continue using the app? If later on I do
purchase the additional content subscription, is that content VoiceOver
accessible? (I found that for HeadSpace, subscription content is not
accessible.)

My exploration of the app still hasn't shown me there's much standard content
available. But, it's early in my exploration.

Thanks so much.
