Another moderator's note about thank you messages - Was Re: Accessible App to Track LASERSHIP Packages from Amazon?

Hi all. This is another friendly reminder that everyone should watch out
to not send thank you messages to the list. Repeated sending of one
liner or thank you messages will result in the offender being placed on
moderation.

Thank you.

You can, but by using an app like Parcel, it notifies you when a package
has
moved or if it's been delivered or anything, and you can have it come as an
alert rather than having to go in and check all the time. Simply a
labor-saving app like many other apps in the app store.

I guess I'm not understanding here. Amazon.com always sends you an email
message notifying you that your order has shipped. In that message is a
tracking history link you can follow. You can watch your shipment's
program

from the shipper to your door. It is totally blind friendly. I've used it
from Amazon.com, Buy.com and new egg and they all have been accessible. So
again my question, why do you think you need an app for that?

Alan

Hi, I use Slice for tracking and it works well. I haven't seen it
mentioned in the various tracking and shipping threads here. One nice
thing about slice is that you can give it your gmail access and it will
check your shipping status for things like Amazon, Ebay and other
various places which send you email. This isn't the same as forwarding
emails like you do with other apps, and it requires you to trust that
slice has access to your email.

I know that at least three or four different apps for tracking packages
have been mentioned here. I have been using the Shiprack app which I've
found to be accessible, free, and easy to use since you simply forward
the shipped package email from the vendor to get the package to be
tracked into the Shiprack system.

The last couple of items I've ordered from Amazon have been shipped
using an outfit called LASERSHIP which is at the following website:

http://lasership.com/index.php

I've noticed that the Amazon packages shipped using LASERSHIP can't be
tracked using Shiprack and I'm wondering if anyone using one of the
other package tracking apps has successfully tracked a package delivered
by LASERSHIP with it. If so, could you share the name of the app and
your opinion of it? I don't mind paying a couple of bucks for a package
tracking app provided it's accessible and supports the carriers
delivering my packages.

Thanks in advance.

Ok, I know this isn't quite in the spirit of the question, but this just
worked for me when chasing a package in a non-standard courier.

I used the pc to find the company's main web site. I got hold of the track
number and entered it.

When I saw the results, I got into the address field, selected and copied
to clipboard, the entire address.
Then sent myself an email to my apple me.com account with just the link in
and maybe parcel track in the subject.

Then, when I want to check, I open said message, click on the link, and it
is checked all over again.

This should work with any service offering trackingthough agree it
will depend on a certain form or style, very common attributes, but with a
minor possibility that they do it different so the details don't occupy the
address line tail as parameters.

Hi, I use Slice for tracking and it works well. I haven't seen it
mentioned in the various tracking and shipping threads here. One nice
thing about slice is that you can give it your gmail access and it will
check your shipping status for things like Amazon, Ebay and other
various places which send you email. This isn't the same as forwarding
emails like you do with other apps, and it requires you to trust that
slice has access to your email.

your opinion of it? I don't mind paying a couple of bucks for a package

RE: Accessible App to Track LASERSHIP Packages from Amazon?

2014-04-29 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
Hi Alan,

As somebody else already pointed out out, Shiprack is the only app you can
forward emails to, but maybe somebody should suggest to the developers of
Posted, Parcel and Delivery Status Touch to look into including such a
feature.

I still like Delivery Status Touch, all I have to do is find the tracking
number in the email, select and copy it to the clipboard, then when I open
Delivery Status Touch I don't even have to tap on Add new delivery, the app
automatically pops up a message telling me that it found a Fed Ex, UPS or
whatever tracking number and do I want to add this as a new delivery. I tap
OK and the tracking number is automatically inserted, so far I think it was
always correct as to which carrier it chose and all I had to do is tap in
the edit field to add a description for which I usually use Dictation and
then tap save. I find this just as easy as having to select to forward the
email and then to type the shiprack address into the To field of the the
email and tap Send.

Sieghard

Thanks for the comments. I think my problem is I get a bit impatient with
forwarding the package shipment email to Shiprack before the electronic
shipping information has been fully digested. It turns out that this package
is actually being delivered by the US Postal Service even though my Amazon
orders page identifies LaserShip as the carrier. These dual shipping
arrangements where the USPS partners with another carrier have always given
me somewhat of an issue when trying to track them and I suspect this is what
is occurring with Shiprack.

I'm curious about the Parcel app for anyone who might use it. Does it allow
the forwarding of the shipped email in order to get the tracking info into
their system? This is one of the main things I like about Shiprack but I
didn't see mention of this feature on the Parcel iTunes page.

RE: Accessible App to Track LASERSHIP Packages from Amazon?

2014-04-28 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
Hi Alan,

Most of the shipping apps will track Lasership, I am surprised Shiprack
doesn’t. Parcel, Posted and Delivery Status Touch definitely will according
to the app descriptions and all 3 of these are fully accessible.

Lasership also has its own app which I found by doing a Google search for
“tracking lasership packages” yielded the following result, among others:

http://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/lasership-mobile-app-delivers-fast-t
racking-and-even-faster-shipping-201438581.html

The Lasership app app is free and while I can’t speak for its accessibility
you could just try it.

You can also use the Parcel app which is accessible, but if you want Push
notifications it costs $1.99 per year. Below the link and the app
description:

https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/parcel-delivery-tracking/id375589283?mt=8

Description:

If you are looking for the app to track shipments on iPhone or iPad - Parcel
app is the best choice for you.
With this application you can promptly access tracking information for 200
delivery services, including Canada Post, OnTrac, Purolator, LaserShip,
Greyhound Express, DHL, TNT, UPS, USPS, FedEx and many other postal
services. Full list of supported couriers is available at: http://parcelapp.
net/#services

Tracking data is collected on our server, so you will get it right to your
device with a click of a button. You don't even need to enter the tracking
number, barcode scanning is available on iPhone and iPad. With unique
carrier automatic recognition function, adding new delivery is just a matter
of seconds.

You can also locate your delivery on the map or manage your deliveries using
Web Access (http://web.parcelapp.net) - easy and simple.

Parcel has a native OS X app available for free in the Mac App Store.

Push notifications provided by Parcel are more convenient than from any
other app. They are being sent only from 8am to 10 pm according to your
timezone, so you will not be bothered at night. (however, you can disable
this option in the settings)

If you want to use push notifications or track more than 3 shipments at the
same time - you can subscribe to the premium subscription right in the app
for $1.99 per year.

The Posted app is $1.99 one-time purchase, below the link and description:

https://itunes.apple.com/ca/app/posted/id355963410?mt=

Description:

Posted enables you to track your delivery parcels from many shipping
courier companies. Once you add in your tracking number, Posted will display
all relevant details about your parcel so you know exactly what is happening
with your latest purchase.

Features:
Currently supports over 180+ delivery providers
★ Push notification when the status of your parcel changes
★ Estimated delivery dates (where supported)
★ Barcode scanning (3GS or newer).

Fedex, Landmark, LaserShip, Newgistics, OnTrac, Postclub, Prestige Delivery,
R+L Carriers, Streamlite, TNT, UPS, UPS Mail Innovations, USPS.

Bonus feature for account sync users:

Introducing the “web interface” to manage your parcels! Available at http:
//www.PostedApp.com/members/login (FREE to use!).

The web interface will be updated with more functionality in the future.

Delivery Status Touch I like because if you have a tracking number copies to
the clipboard and open the app it will immediately recognize this and
usually also the carrier and ask you if you want to set up a new delivery,
all you have to do is enter a name for the delivery if you want and tap
Save. However, for some reason push notifications for this app don’t seem
to work for me, it’s something I have been meaning to contact the developer
about since I like this app the best in the way it displays the information.
It is, however, also the most expensive of the 3 with a price tag of $4.99,
but it’s a one-time purchase just as Posted and unlike Parcel which is
$1.99 a year. On the other side I don’t mind paying that if the service
sticks around, Track This was also a good app and only 99 Cents, but maybe
that is why it’s no longer there. Here the link for Delivery Status Touch
and the description, I also included the link of their website to where they
list all their supported services:

Hi again, Alan,

OK, should have done this before since I did it for the other 3 apps I
mentioned. I just looked up the app description for Shiprack again and I
found the following in their listing of supported carriers:

Regional and specialized ones: A1 International, Ensenda, LaserShip, OnTrac,

According to this you should be able to track Lasership deliveries just
fine.

I know that at least three or four different apps for tracking packages have
been mentioned here. I have been using the Shiprack app which I've found to be
accessible, free, and easy to use since you simply forward the shipped package
email from the vendor to get the package to be tracked into the Shiprack system.

The last couple of items I've ordered from Amazon have been shipped using an
outfit called LASERSHIP which is at the following website:

http://lasership.com/index.php

I've noticed that the Amazon packages shipped using LASERSHIP can't be tracked
using Shiprack and I'm wondering if anyone using one of the other package
tracking apps has successfully tracked a package delivered by LASERSHIP with
it. If so, could you share the name of the app and your opinion of it? I don't
mind paying a couple of bucks for a package tracking app provided it's
accessible and supports the carriers delivering my packages.

Thanks in advance.

2014-04-28 Thread Ron Pelletier
Hi Alan,

Have you tried Parcel it shure has a lot of companies and it also has a
button for other courriers where you can request that they add a certain
shipper. It only gives the shippers corresponding to the type of number you
insert so, I tried to check for you if lasership was in there but, not
knowing the type of number lasership uses, I can't get it to show
