Re: Any problems with the fingerprint scanner?
I have noticed with my 5s that if my hands aren't perfectly clean that the scanner takes longer to read my prints. My hands were perfectly clean before I scanned the index finger and thumb of both hands. Regards, Alan Go Chicago Bears in 2014! Teenagers; Tired of being harassed by your stupid parents? Act now! I know some people that have, but I have not. Even if you do, you still can enter the four-digit passcode you create instead; as a matter of fact, you need to enter that when you reboot your phone or if you haven't accessed it in 24 hours. - Original Message - From: "Chuck Dean" To: Sent: Wednesday, September 10, 2014 12:52 PM Subject: Any problems with the fingerprint scanner? Re: Any problems with the fingerprint scanner?
Yes, iOS7 lets you store up to five fingerprints. No word on whether iOS8 will expand that, but five is sufficient for one finger for a trusted person or two, then three or four fingers on your own hands. Re: Any problems with the fingerprint scanner?
I have had my iPhone 5s sense October of 2013. It amazes me just how well the finger print scanner works. It should be noted here that you can't be sitting around eating chips or food and then expect the scanner to be able to read your print because you just found a song in iTunes that you just have to have or that great new app in the app store. It's nice to just use your finger print instead of having to type in your user account information. With that in mind, the finger print scanner works very well. Re: Any problems with the fingerprint scanner?
I don't, but my sister has had a 5S since May and she loves it. The fingerprint sensor is still working just fine, and I've used it a few times just because I could. You press the lock or home button to wake up the phone, hold a finger against the home button as though you were going to press it (but don't actually press it), and the phone unlocks. In the near future, offering your fingerprint will do a lot more - pay for items, authenticate in apps, and so on. It's a great bit of technology that works well, and there's nothing to fear from it. Make sure your hands are free of dust or moisture when you use it and you'll be just fine.
