Astreos is an app to help blind people understand the layout of the stars, planets, etc. If you have an interest in astronomy, you might also want to check out Skyview while Yuma gets Astreos to the point of releasing it again. Re: Astreos
Hi Everyone, AstreOS is going through an overhaul, as we are adding some AI features and sonification tools to analyse the objects in the skies. the original project was simply to make things accessible in the augmented reality sense, but between adding the entire universe, uni, a ted talk, the Holman prize, covid and others, I don't have the deep pockets that some other companies have, so I am working on the new features with another developer who is supporting the code for the backend. I will put the new version up tomorrow and link the public test flight through this thread if anyone is interested. RE: Astreos
I just tried it again by pointing the camera at the sky and it is amazingly nice with VoiceOver. Then, I discovered, it works indoors, even though the camera is only showing stuff in the house, it is reporting the stars etc., you would be pointing at if you were outside I guess. I saw until I was 12 and we spent lots and lots of time in the outdoors, camping in the Sierra mountains, or on the beach around Big Sur, and did lots of star gazing at night, so I have always had a fascination with that kind of information. May have to check out SkyView Lite myself. It’s a shame the other project seems to have been pulled, as I would have enjoyed it too. Re: Astreos: GMT location bug
It is odd that Astrios is available in New Zealand, while it is not in Canada: the complete reverse of the normal state of affairs. As a Canadion I looked for this app in the canadion app stor and can't find it. I would like to try this app out and am wondering where those of us who live in Canada can get this app to try it? We're fixing this up, along with a few others which I will list here for now, so that you can compare and know that we're working on them: -Volume is not high enough on speakers. A gesture for volume up/down will be added -visually, on smaller phones, some information is cropped out -Some prefer a single screen touch instead of pinch zooming. We agreed that a double tap is better for zooming in, as some had to contort themselves in weird positions when an object was straight up above. Hilarious and. funny yes, but the goal of the app is to provide information quickly :) -Some sounds disappear when zooming back from constellations ALongside the above, we're going to expose all of the information which is visually available using 3D audio for voice over. -Many more features to come have a great day y'all -- The following information is important for all members of the V iPhone list. Hi Mitch, It's still on beta so we go through test flight distributions to collect crash logs and other runtime related processes, before uploading it to the appstore.
