RE: Calls missing from recent calls list

2017-07-20 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
That is probably a push notification that you have a voice mail. However, calls
in the recent calls list actually have to be received by the phone and your
phone can't receive calls when it's in Airplane mode or turned off. Voice Mails
are kept on the carrier's server so that is different.
If you have a mailbox in the lobby of your apartment building you can't receive
mail if the outer door is locked, but that doesn't mean the mailman can't leave
a note on the outer door that he tried to deliver mail to you, still that won't
put it in your mailbox when you come home and find the note, he has to come
back when the door is open to deliver it.

I'm not doubting your explanation re airplane mode, but why then do I see a
notification that someone called the next time I turn off airplane mode? It
seems like if the phone can log a notification it should be able to log that a
call was missed as well.

2017-07-20 Thread Julian
Hi Kimberly,

The only way that this would be possible is if your carrier somehow signals
your device the calls were missed while the device was not connected to their
network. I am with T-Mobile and this is never been the case for me. What are
usually do is leave my phone in do not disturb as opposed to airplane mode.
That way, I can see what calls I missed while I did not want to be interrupted

Re: Calls missing from recent calls list

2017-07-19 Thread Julian
Hello all,

The situation the Kimberly describes is normal and expected behavior since the
phone was in airplane mode. Airplane mode means that all the radios, including
the one that handles phone calls, or turned off and thus your devices no
contact with the outside world. Any call that comes in during this period gets
routed directly to voicemail but your carrier hence the reason it shows up in
your voicemail list but not your recent call list.

Re: Calls missing from recent calls list

2017-07-19 Thread Shai
Hello Kimber,
Yes, I have seen this behavior and it is normal. When a phone is in
airplane mode, only voicemails received will be shown. A recent call
will not be shown since the phone is not able to receive calls in this
mode. Missed and all calls incoming and outgoing are only registered
when the phone is set out of airplane mode.
