RE: Dice World, am I missing something?
Raul, yes, don't misunderstand me, I appreciate all of that. As a new user of the game, I obviously didn't know how this game is supposed to work. Now I know you're supposed to have lots of active games on the go, I'm clear on things. It will be interesting to see how quickly someone gets the turn, if I can persuade my son to install it lol. When you play a game like Dice World, you will play against real people who have real lives and who might live in a different part of the world as yourself. So, to minimize the long wait times if that's not what you want to do, then you might consider only playing with people in your same time zone, but even then you have the real life factor to deal with. There are times when I go through my turns in the morning before I go to work, or while I'm on my way to a client's home. So it can vary. Re: Dice World, am I missing something?
You can't expect everyone to play a game all the way through immediately when a game is started. That is not how these type games work Some might go ahead and finish a game when it is first started, but most people don't. If that is your expectation with any turn base games such as Dice World, you might as well just delete all of them. -Original Message- From: Steve Spamer Sent: Monday, March 17, 2014 5:24 PM To: viphone@googlegroups.com Subject: RE: Dice World, am I missing something? It's neither. Some people just take longer. After three days, the game will expire. They have that long to respond to your move. Re: Dice World, am I missing something?
You could be playing someone clear across the globe which of course would mean they are on a different time zone, so they play when they are able to. From: Steve Spamer Sent: Monday, March 17, 2014 6:50 AM To: viphone@googlegroups.com Subject: Dice World, am I missing something? Hi folks. Ok so I've got Dice World and I've set up some Farkle games, but what I don't quite get is the time difference between turns? I currently have 3 games active, but it can take 9 hours or more for the other person to take their turn!!! Now is this because they are waiting that long? or is it something to do with the game sending that information to that player? Anyway, it's a fun little game, but I can't see myself playing it, if it takes over a week to play a game lol! Advice please! Cheers Steve. Re: Dice World, am I missing something?
It is not 3 days, it is 5 days. In the help section under frequently asked questions, it says: A player will forfeit a game if they do not make a move in 5 days. From: Jewel Sent: Monday, March 17, 2014 10:11 AM To: viphone@googlegroups.com Subject: Re: Dice World, am I missing something? It's neither. Some people just take longer. After three days, the game will expire. They have that long to respond to your move. Most people respond within an hour or two, but some people take much longer. Re: Dice World, am I missing something?
Steve, it all depends on who you are playing; if they are not online at that time, it can take time for them to play and take their turn; the more games, the less you deal with this.
