A triple tap should pause the recording, then restart it.

Hope this helps.

Hi List,

I'm using RecUp which was formerly called DropVox today to record a meeting.
It's been a while since I've used this app and I remember there was a gesture
you could do once a recording was started to pause it. You could later do a
single finger double tap while the record button had focus to continue the same
recording. I'm hoping someone on the list either still uses this app or
remembers the gesture to do what I want.

Normally, single finger double tapping when the record button has focus starts
the recording and then ends it at which point the recording is uploaded to the

to pause the recording and start it back so I only end up with one recording.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Alan, I still think the triple tap is the correct gesture, but the new triple

Chris,

Thanks so much. I thought I was remembering the single finger triple tap to
pause a recording in progress but when I tested it, I missed that you did
another single finger triple tap to restart the paused recording and then a
single finger double tap to end it.

Also, related to the 1-finger quadruple tap, that is also how to activate caps
lock in iOS 13.

Alan, I figured it out. It is now a 1 finger quadruple tap, that's tapping 4
times with one finger.

Hope this helps.

Normally, single finger double tapping when the record button has focus starts

Chris,

I'm not getting it to work either. I don't know if it's because of the new
context function of the single finger triple tap but when I do it during a
recording, the recording does stop but the message that it's being uploaded to
Dropbox occurs so it's not pausing as it used to do.

Alan, I still think the triple tap is the correct gesture, but the new triple
tap for the context menu is overriding it and causing it not to work.

Hi Alan, et al,
I was interested, so I went to the web site and read about the app.
It hasn't been updated for a year, so perhaps he hasn't sorted out the iOS 13
changes. But, I found his email address and pasted it below. I'd suggest
writing him and explaining that pausing now takes a quadruple tap and see if he
can clear up how to resume.

Hi Alan,

Currently a single finger quadruple tap will pause the recording, and a single
finger double tap will restart the recording.
Keep in mind, you can change the quadruple tap gesture in settings / voice over

RE: How do I pause a RecUp formerly DropVox recording?

2020-02-01 Thread Alan Lemly
Thanks to Richard for this developer contact email address and to Chris for
sorting out how to pause and resume a recording with RecUp. I can confirm what
Chris posted is correct. You start a new RecUp recording by placing focus on
the record button and single finger double tapping. You can pause that
recording by single finger quadruple tapping. To resume and continue a paused
recording, place focus on the record button and single finger double tap. You
can continue to pause as needed but when you are done recording, the final
single finger double tap with focus on record will end the recording and it
will be uploaded to Dropbox.

Sorry to go on so long with this and thanks for the help.

Alan, I figured it out. It is now a 1 finger quadruple tap, that's tapping 4
times with one finger.

Hope this helps.

Normally, single finger double tapping when the record button has focus starts
the recording and then ends it at which point the recording is uploaded to the
applicable Dropbox folder. If we have breaks in the meeting, I want to be able
to pause the recording and start it back so I only end up with one recording.

Chris,

Thanks so much. That helps a lot and I confirm that it does work as you
described. Now that I've got it straight, I'm looking forward to using RecUp
more than I have been.

Hi Alan,

Currently a single finger quadruple tap will pause the recording, and a single
finger double tap will restart the recording.

Keep in mind, you can change the quadruple tap gesture in settings / voice over
/ commands.

Hope this helps.

Re: How do I pause a RecUp formerly DropVox recording?

2020-02-02 Thread englishrider91
What is this new context menu thing in iOS 13? Does it have something to do
with the actions item on the rotor? It's good to know people have figured out
that's it's now a single-finger quadrupal tap; I wish it was still a
tripple-tap. Maybe this context menu thing will be more useful than I'm
thinking it will.

Thanks,
Ari

Re: How do I pause a RecUp formerly DropVox recording?

2020-02-02 Thread Anna Dresner
Hi,

A context menu is the same as long pressing or double-tapping and holding an
item. It can also be done with a triple-tap. I believe the quadruple-tap is
specific to recUp. It's not how you open a standard context menu in iOS.

Best,
Anna
