Re: Is there a chime clock app that strikes every hour and every quarter hour
What will be best is for people to paste the actual App Store link in the email message when responding. This is especially true when the app might have a generic name. To get the link of an app from the app store, find the share button near the top of the screen on your eye device. copy Link will be there. > On Oct 31, 2014, at 4:22 AM, Wren Langley wrote: > > Hi Kathy, I found several cuckoos in the App Store. Hello all, please which app does chime on the quarter, half three quarters and hour and say the time as well? I know it has been discussed here, but I have not followed the thread closely, as I did not need it, but I'm quite interested in such an app right now. Thanks for help in advance. I found Marine Bells by accident. I looked for it on a whim when this clock thread started. It provides a ship's clock which runs a 4-hour cycle of chimes, 1 through 8 bells. You can turn the notifications off. Just go to the notifications in settings and look for westminster chimes and turn off badges and alerts. Leave on sounds and the app will continue to speak. I'll check the volume. Hadn't turned off the notifications yet but know how so will check that. Does it say "play chimes switch button on" in the app when you flick across to check all the settings? That's right before: "chime style Westminster". 2. Do you have sounds turned on for it in Notifications while having it not included for notifications otherwise? 3. I always have mine in my app switcher though I am not sure this is necessary. 4. I think this isn't probably a problem but remember that the volume is relative to your phone's volume. So if it is on medium but you don't have your phone turned up, the volume won't be very loud. Hi all I used to recommend Westminster Chimes but have to say Qoo is a bit better and is certainly at the right price . Fixing Westminster notifications - Was Re: Is there a chime clock app that strikes every hour and every quarter hour
Hi, easy fix. Not sure if this has been answered already since I'm behind on mail. Just turn off the notifications from the notification center. Keep sounds on, but change banners to no alert. Also, choose no for notification center and for lock screen and you will be good to go. Good luck. -- Raul A. Gallegos Oxygen and Potassium went on a date. It went OK. Re: Is there a chime clock app that strikes every hour and every quarter hour
I have a Chime clock app that does the Westminster chimes. I have it set to start chiming at 7 AM and stops chiming at 10 PM. The chimes are recorded digitally and sounds beautiful. There are 3 choices of Westminster plus Whiting chimes and one other which I can't think of at the time. It does not have a tick-tock mode thank God. It was free at the time I got it but I think it's paid now. It's by Yoctoville who makes sure all their apps are accessible. Regards, Alan Go Chicago Bears in 2014! Re: Is there a chime clock app that strikes every hour and every quarter hour
1. Under settings, notifications, there is a Westminster Chimes button. You can turn that off only. You don't have to turn off all notifications. Take care. Re: Is there a chime clock app that strikes every hour and every quarter hour
I am so glad that you posted these instructions! I just went into my notifications and turn that off too. It is very annoying to have to scroll through all of Westminster Chimes notifications, but I do love the app. Thank you so much! Re: Is there a chime clock app that strikes every hour and every quarter hour
Actually, it does work though it took me a while to figure out. At first I tried changing something in Westminster chimes itself but it's in the notification center that you actually do it. I had to do the same with "chime" and "hourly chime". -- Cheryl I tried and tried to turn over a new leaf. I got crumpled wads of tear-stained paper thrown in the trash! Then God gave me a new heart and life: His joy for my despairing tears! And now, every day: "This I call to mind, and therefore I have hope: The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness." Hi, For some reason, in Timely, I can't seem to get the settings for the hours to stick. I want it to go off from 6 am to 7 PM. It still only sticks to the defaults. Re: Is there a chime clock app that strikes every hour and every quarter hour
Hi, Oh dear me you don't have to disable all notifications you merely navigate to settings, notification center, then tap on the icon for Westminster chimes and under there you can set alerts to none turn off appearing in notification center but leave sounds on and you've got it made. I hope that clarifies things. Robin -Original Message- From: Gail the U. S. RE: Is there a chime clock app that strikes every hour and every quarter hour
Hi Paula, This is one of the situations where syncing your phone to iTunes comes in handy since even apps which get removed from the app store can be used until they won't work any more for reasons of compatibility. If you sync your apps with iTunes a physical copy of all your apps is kept on your computer and you can sync these copies back to your phone. Re: Is there a chime clock app that strikes every hour and every quarter hour
I do go through the apps on my phone from time to time and delete the ones I really do not use anymore. I mean, if I ever want or need it, all I have to do is redownload it from the app store. Re: Is there a chime clock app that strikes every hour and every quarter hour
Hi all, this is what I ended up doing. I may do something else later but I have the Timely app unspoken and then I have the time clock on every 15 minutes the Timely app speaks the quarter hour examples such as 115 and then the Chimes Chimes a 15 minute and so on. Thus I have the hour the time spoken and the chime on. I suppose you could do this with any combination of apps that you wanted to. Thank you all for all of your inputthat first word was supposed to be chime app not timely up God bless, Wren Langley Sent from my iPhone > On Oct 8, 2014, at 10:23 AM, Cheryl Lenartiene > wrote: > > Here is the link. Oh when I got mine, it was pretty cool to be walking down the street and having my phone chime etc. After awhile though it got old like so many other apps. I paid for it and it's still on my iPhone and every now and then I turn it on but for the most part, it stays off which leads me to wonder how many times do we get an app and then have it sit there unused but sense we paid for it, we are reluctant to delete it. Hi. I personally use an app called Grand Clock. It is $.99 in the American App Store. It can chime every 15 minutes, half an hour, or hour. It comes with new Westminster chimes, and gong. If you don't like those, you can buy different chimes. They are also $.99. Julia. Re: Is there a chime clock app that strikes every hour and every quarter hour
I use an app called G-Clock for that. You can choose when and with what sound you wantit to strike and it has a nice ticking sound. The only problem is that if you make or receive a phone call or if you use Siri or dictation, it stops working and you have to close it in the app switcher and reopen it. You then have to make sure your sound of choice is selected in the options or it might change on you for no apparent reason. I wrote to the developers about this, but they haven't answered yet. The app cost 99 cents. HTH, Haya Simkin & guide dog Pammy Sent from my iPhone On Oct 7, 2014, at 21:42, Godwin Adoyi Agada wrote: Hi, Try ‘Say the time’ you will like it. Re: Is there a chime clock app that strikes every hour and every quarter hour
Try "Clock Chimes" it's blind friendly and you can select hourly, every 30 minutes or quarterly chimes. There are 3 choices of Westminster plus Whittington and one or 2 others. Note, the chiming is really good and when it goes off, people around you start looking around to see where the chiming is coming from. Regards, Alan Go Chicago Bears in 2014! Yes I use Westminster Chimes the paid version which is £0.69 in the U.K. Do not get the lite version as you will not be notified unless you're in the app itself.
