RE: Question about Siri

2021-11-26 Thread Simon A Fogarty
It’s nothing to do with a vpn or your network router or network in general,

It’s simply a dum message siri gives when she / he doesn’t understand what your
trying to ask.

I get it as well
And it’s nothing to do with vpn

Apple Accessibility gave me that answer as well and I believe that when you
said something about an iPod it was actually referring to a HomePod. Anyway if
you were to email accessibility, they'll say the same steps of troubleshooting.
Is your home network a VPN? I know that in response to my email, that is what
was asked and since I don't know and I don't have access of resetting the
router like my sighted father does, and he is not tech savvy to know about
whether it's a VPN, that's beyond him. LOL! So I keep resetting my network
settings on my phone rather than explaining it all to dad because it is all
Greek to him.

Normally it has to do with your connection. Try restarting your phone and also
your router and try again.

Have you checked your wi-fi router'! connection? Maybe unplug the router for 30
seconds and plug it back in and wait a minute while it reconnects.
Then you may need to reset your phone's network settings, but maybe the router
restart will take care of it.
Siri will use the name in the About settings to identify your device.

2021-11-26 Thread Johna Gravitt
Hi,
Thank you. I've done that and even changed the voice Siri uses and tried, then
changed it back, and still the same thing.
I do appreciate everyone's help, I was wondering if anyone else is experiencing

2020-01-18 Thread Antonio Guimaraes
I got that bug last night too. You should update WhatsApp, and that will take
care of the issue.

RE: Question about Siri

2019-08-03 Thread Carolyn Arnold
Siri calls me by name, when she can't find something. I'd rather forget the
name and her do the finding.

Best regards,

Well, I guess maybe I ask and expect more of SIRI than you, after all, SIRI has
started working for me about 8 years ago and if one of my employees was so
stupid about certain things after such a long time I'd fire them.
As for SIRI not addressing you by name that should be an easy fix.
Go to Settings > SIRI and Search and swipe right until you get to "My
Information". Make sure your own contact card is selected here, this is how
SIRI knows who you are.
You can also bring up SIRI and say "SIRI, call me...", follow that with
whatever you want SIRI to call you, if it is Jewel, say "SIRI call me Jewel",
if it is Beautiful Lady then say "SIRI call me Beautiful Lady".

No, they are not getting rid of anything.
They are stopping a program of quality control because they had human staff

that meant people's privacy was being compromised.

Re: Question about Siri

2019-08-02 Thread Richard Turner
No, they are not getting rid of anything.
They are stopping a program of quality control because they had human staff
listening to recordings to determine if Siri was getting things correct, but
that meant people's privacy was being compromised.

RE: question about siri

2013-11-22 Thread Lu Ann Schmidt
Today I told Siri to direct me to a certain Mexican food restaurant that I
wanted to go to. She told me the way by opening Apple Maps. She even told me
when my destination was on my right. It should work if you have the latest
updates for the IPhone.

Subject: question about siri

Hi all.
I don't know if this topic has been at the list before, but let me try again.
When I say to siri, I want to go to what ever place.
Siri says, I have found one place.
it is in bla bla bla.
Do you want it?
I say, yes.
But siri say again.
I have found one place.
This is bla bla bla.
Do you want it?
Looks like some times, not all the time, my phone is not recognizing my orders
to siri, and my finger print either.
It is normal?
Thanks
Pablo

You might check your settings for Siri. My husband's settings are different

I just had a quick question for anyone who may be able to answer it. I just
downloaded vocalizer expressive for my screen reader last night. When I
listened to both Tom and Samantha who I thought we're going to be the new
voices for Siri and iOS 7 what I was hearing did not seem to match what I
heard from Siri during the Apple keynote from yesterday or the WWDC event in

June. Now, when I say Samantha, I mean the improved female voice. To me it
sounds like an improved version of Samantha but the Samantha that I have a
vocalizer expensive sounds just the same as before. And Tom doesn't match
the mail voice either. So I just wondered And sorry that was supposed to say

the Samantha that is in vocalizer expressive. Also, again, the mail voice
shown during the presentation from Apple does not match Tom's voice either.
So I'm confused I don't understand what's going on. Is Apple not using the
vocalizer expressive voices anymore? Thanks a lot

I just had a quick question for anyone who may be able to answer it. I
just downloaded vocalizer expressive for my screen reader last night. When
I listened to both Tom and Samantha who I thought we're going to be the
new voices for Siri and iOS 7 what I was hearing did not seem to match
what I heard from Siri during the Apple keynote from yesterday or the WWDC
event in June. Now, when I say Samantha, I mean the improved female voice.
To me it sounds like an improved version of Samantha but the Samantha that
I have a vocalizer expensive sounds just the same as before. And Tom
doesn't match the mail voice either. So I just wondered And sorry that was
supposed to say the Samantha that is in vocalizer expressive. Also, again,
the mail voice shown during the presentation from Apple does not match
Tom's voice either. So I'm confused I don't understand what's going on. Is
Apple not using the vocalizer expressive voices anymore? Thanks a lot

I think we would be able to take advantage of the new voices. I would
assume that Siri and VoiceOver are using the same voices on the phone.
To cut down on space, Apple may only allow one high quality voice on the
phone at a time.

Maybe you are correct, but do you really think the new male voice would take
up much more space than the current premium voices? I'm not so sure it would
in fact I would think that storing the voice server side would present some
major issues.

Re: Question about Siri in iOS 7

2013-09-12 Thread Chris H
I don't think so as surely it will take up a lot of storage compared to
the voices we have now. I suspect the new voices will be used wherever
Siri is located server wise.

Any idea if that new male voice will also be available for use with VO? I
would assume so but you know what can happen with assumptions. (smile)

According to yesterdays presentation, he said we have created a new voice
for siri and then let us hear a short bit of speech from both voices. They
did not sound like any I have heard before so I can only assume they are
totally new. We'll have until at least next weekend to find out when
somebody on the list is lucky enough to lay hands on a 5S. I wouldn't want
to be a worker at an Apple or ATT store this weekend.

Subject: Question about Siri in iOS 7
