I know there has been discussion in the past to the effect that the Roku is
totally not accessible. Now however, I am asking about possibly being able to
use a Roku with the iOS app for your iPhone. There is one, and it has decent
reviews for the most part. But you really can't test its accessibility and
less you have a Roku. Maybe there is someone out there who has a sided
significant other who uses a Roku and with us have access to it with the
iPhone app who has tried this. The Roku has by far the greatest selection of
channels compared to AppleTV or Amazon fire TV. But it has always been an
accessible. This app could change that, if it were done right.

Re: Roku app

2015-07-02 Thread Alex Hall
To my knowledge--as of last December--the app is still not really usable. In
fact, even my sighted family prefers the physical remote over the app, finding
it more convenient and streamlined. Last I checked, though, accessibility of
the Roku app isn't really there. I'd love to be proven wrong, though.

Re: Roku app

2015-07-02 Thread Mary Otten
Well, the app has been updated at the end of June. Which is not to say they fix
anything from an accessibility for you. But if your family members still have
it, and you have access to that, you might want to check it out.
