Hi Bill, As Cheryl pointed out, SIRI works fine with the screen locked. I use it all the time when my iPhone is tucked away under my coat and I have my headset on. I press and hold the middle button of the headset remote until I hear the triple tone indicating SIRI is listening. I then say what I want, maybe tell it to text somebody and I always speak my message immediately. It then repeats it and if it sounds good I press and hold the middle button again and tell it to "Send" or maybe if it's a reminder to "Confirm". Sure, you can use siri from a locked screen. You hold down your home button and ask siri your question. When the response is finished and you press home, you are in the place where you can slide or double tap to unlock the screen.
