Any text message sent is saved in the Messages app whether there is a reply

So if you send a message and don't get a reply, then what? He said he didn't
see any of his messages in the app. I don't know if he was looking in the
conversation view, if there even is another view. Or maybe he sent messages
and didn't get replies, so there were no actual conversations.

Re: What happens to text messages that you send?

2016-01-23 Thread Christopher Chaltain
When I go into the Messages app, and here I'm talking about SMS text
messages, I get a list of my conversations. Each conversation is named
for the person I'm talking to. I'll hear the name of the person and the
last message I exchanged with them, even if it's from me. Double tapping
on one of these conversations brings up a list of all of the messages in
that conversation, both the ones I sent and the ones I received.

I have passed on the messages to my friend, and hopefully he has found his
problem. I see text messages. I just wasn't seeing any from me, but I have sent
very few, and probably just deleted them as part of an old conversations which
are gone. So I don't think I am having a problem.

We should probably remind folks that Mary's original post on this thread was
based on secondhand information she received from a friend experiencing the
problem. it might be helpful to go back to the source for an update after
she has communicated the replies to him. I know at this point that I'm a bit

Text messages aren saved in the messages app. They are grouped by conversation.
The easiest way to delete them is to swipe up with one finger on the
conversation and they are gone. If he wants to delete them one at a time, it is

All I can say is that once you open Messages this is like opening an Inbox. I
have no idea why you have no Messages there or why your friend says there are
no messages. Maybe send a message to a friend or family member and then take a

RE: What happens to text messages that you send?

2016-01-22 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
Any text message sent is saved in the Messages app whether there is a reply or
not.

So if you send a message and don't get a reply, then what? He said he didn't
see any of his messages in the app. I don't know if he was looking in the
conversation view, if there even is another view. Or maybe he sent messages and
didn't get replies, so there were no actual conversations.

2016-01-22 Thread Mary Otten
OK, so how do you find these text messages? They're not showing up in the place
where text messages that you receive our showing up. At least, that's what my
friend says. And I just looked in my messages app, and it is clear completely
clear. I don't recall deleting any of my own text messages, although I have
sent few. And maybe I did and just don't remember.
