I would say Yes, some call it a stand and I call it a cradle, but the point is
that the phone stands in a somewhat more upright position and hence requires an
edge or whatever to rest against and that lines up much better than if you lay
it on a small round pad which has no edges

After I placed my phone on the wireless charger, I routinely touch the top

charging it will tell me battery level 60% on AC power. If it is not accurately

Paying the $1.99 got rid of the ads, and it shows both the phone and watch
levels on the watch.
That will be a nice app to have.
Much easier for checking the phone while it's charging.
Thanks,

I'll let you know if anything else comes of it.

Try restarting both devices, does your iPhone charge level then show up on your

It shows it, but shows zero battery ... and it looks like you have to pay $1.99

RE: Wireless charging pad

2021-08-17 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
I don't find it all that difficult to centre it, but if you have that problem
you can always buy a wireless charging cradle. I have one in the living room
and when the phone is on it, it sits on a sort of 45 degree angle and the
bottom of the phone rests against an edge and the cradle is basically about the
width of my phone so it's super easy to line it up. Of course if you had an
iPhone 12 or are buying a new iPhone this fall and have a MagSafe compatible
charger that is probably not an issue because the magnets line it up and would
keep it in place and safe from bumps.

"Fast Charging."
But, what it says and what it actually does is not always the same thing as you

I too don't care about the fast; other than it claims to be such.

There was a 6.% coupon when I was on the site. this is by Nanami, who I do not
really know; , but they include the fast charging adapter; where the Anchor for
a few dollars less did not.

It has a 60 day return policy which I like.

Paying the $1.99 got rid of the ads, and it shows both the phone and watch
levels on the watch.
That will be a nice app to have.
Much easier for checking the phone while it's charging.
Thanks,

You do have to make sure it is in the center of the back of the phone, which

That is why I like to use a charging stand as it is a lot easier to line up on
the charging stand then a pad.

Thank you. My problem is I seem to be inconsistent in placing it and I’m not
sure why.. unless the chargers pause to preserve battery health? Sometimes mine
charges like a champ other times not and other times it appears to pause.

hi,

After I placed my phone on the wireless charger, I routinely touch the top
right corner of the screen to get the battery level announcement. If it is
charging it will tell me battery level 60% on AC power. If it is not accurately
placed on the charger, it just announces battery level 60%.

Hope this helps. Keith

I received mine yesterday. I don’t have experience to compare either,
but I did think it would charge a little faster. It is kind of fun just to lay
the phone down and have it charge. I do have to pay attention to not bumping it
off center. I also like just setting my AirPods Pro on the pad.

This being my first hands-on with a wireless charging pad, this

It is about 3.75 inches in diameter.

It comes with the “fast” charging block and a USB A to USB C
cable that is 3 feet long.

When plugged in properly to the pad, the USB C plug clicks into
place so you know you have a good solid connection.

I don’t know what “fast” charging means on an iPhone SE 2020,
but I have a thin clear case that is rated to work with wireless charging pads.
My phone went from 10% to 100% in a little over three hours. Again, this is
my first experience with this kind of charger; but that doesn’t seem fast to
me. Maybe I’m missing something.

You do have to make sure it is in the center of the back of the
phone, which means that if you press the home button at all, it will teeter up
off the charger so you have to hold it down with the other hand. When I get a
phone with no home button, which I plan to do this fall, and if I keep the
charger, that won’t be an issue.

I can say.

It is about 3.75 inches in diameter.

It comes with the “fast” charging block and a USB A to USB C cable that
is 3 feet long.

When plugged in properly to the pad, the USB C plug clicks into place
so you know you have a good solid connection.

I don’t know what “fast” charging means on an iPhone SE 2020, but I
have a thin clear case that is rated to work with wireless charging pads. My
phone went from 10% to 100% in a little over three hours. Again, this is my
first experience with this kind of charger; but that doesn’t seem fast to me.
Maybe I’m missing something.

You do have to make sure it is in the center of the back of the phone,
which means that if you press the home button at all, it will teeter up off the
charger so you have to hold it down with the other hand. When I get a phone
with no home button, which I plan to do this fall, and if I keep the charger,
that won’t be an issue.

RE: Wireless charging pad

2021-08-17 Thread Star Gazer
I like the convenience of wireless charging but I’m
finding my phone isn’t always centered on the charger. I will feel it vibrate,
here a ping sound, it will say its charging and then it will just randomly
stop. The charger is fine, obody else has the problem of their phones not being
centered, so I’m wondering if any totally blind users who like wireless
charging can give me a hint?

think it would charge a little faster. It is kind of fun just to lay the phone

center. I also like just setting my AirPods Pro on the pad.

2021-08-17 Thread Malcolm Parfitt
Hello Richard,

That sounds about right.

If you’re interested there is an app that will enable you to check your
iPhone’s battery level from your Apple Watch, take a look at:

https://apps.apple.com/gb/app/battery-life/id1080930585

You can then monitor your iPhone charge without disturbing it on the wireless
charger.

Re: Wireless charging pad

2021-08-17 Thread Brett Campbell
I received mine yesterday. I don’t have experience to compare either, but I did
think it would charge a little faster. It is kind of fun just to lay the phone
down and have it charge. I do have to pay attention to not bumping it off
center. I also like just setting my AirPods Pro on the pad.

Re: Wireless charging pad

2021-08-17 Thread Arnold Schmidt
A little over three hours? That is about how long it would take using a regular
charger and a cable. I have never used a fast charger, so I have no personal
experience to share. But my opinion about fast charging in general is that it
has to be harder on the battery, wearing it out sooner.

Re: Wireless charging pad

2021-08-17 Thread Malcolm Parfitt
Richard,

As I understand it in terms of wireless charging fast charge is rated at 7.5
Watts. So that’s 5 Volts at 1.5 Amps.

To put this into some perspective, the old Apple chargers used to be 5 Watts, 5
Volts at 1 Amp. So your wireless charger is a little faster than the standard
Apple chargers.

If you use wired charging method then your iPhone SE can take a charge of 9
Volts at 2 Amps giving you a rating of 18 Watts. This is the fastest charging
method and will charge from flat to 50% in around 30 minutes. This does not
mean that your iPhone will charge to 100% in an hour as the device slows the
charging rate as the battery nears 100%.

You will also see two other charging profiles that your iPhone will accept, 5
Volts at 2 Amp giving 10 Watts and 5 Volts at 2.5 Amps giving you 12.5 Watts.
These are typically found on many power banks.

Hope that helps.

RE: Wireless charging pad

2021-08-17 Thread Richard Turner
To my surprise, the Nanami Wireless Charger that was due to arrive today,
actually arrived on Sunday morning. Delivered by the US Post Office no less.

This being my first hands-on with a wireless charging pad, this is what I can
say.
It is about 3.75 inches in diameter.
It comes with the “fast” charging block and a USB A to USB C cable that is 3
feet long.
When plugged in properly to the pad, the USB C plug clicks into place so you
know you have a good solid connection.

I don’t know what “fast” charging means on an iPhone SE 2020, but I have a thin
clear case that is rated to work with wireless charging pads. My phone went
from 10% to 100% in a little over three hours. Again, this is my first
experience with this kind of charger; but that doesn’t seem fast to me. Maybe
I’m missing something.

You do have to make sure it is in the center of the back of the phone, which
means that if you press the home button at all, it will teeter up off the
charger so you have to hold it down with the other hand. When I get a phone
with no home button, which I plan to do this fall, and if I keep the charger,
that won’t be an issue.

phone down. The case is also designed so that the three camera lenses on
the back will not contact any hard flat surfaces you lay the phone on. The
downside with all this protection, is at the sacrifice of reliable wireless
charging. I’ve tried more than four different Qi chargers, from lay flat to
stands, all of which if the phone is not properly situated exactly so will
cause the phone to start charging and then fail mid charge. Of the nightly
charges over the course of three weeks about 40 percent fail. No case, no
problem,
phone charges 100 percent of the time as expected. OtterBox claims this case is
wireless charging friendly, which simply isn’t the absolute truth. I’ve
decided to keep the case for more rugged outings but not as an everyday case.

Subject: wireless charging pad and phone cases?

Hi all,

I have purchased my husband (and myself, let's be real here) a wireless
charging station for Christmas, and am about to receive an iPhone 11 pro max
for work. I am hoping to put it in a commuter case from otterbox, but will that
prevent it from being able to charge?
does it require a very thin case in order to work?

Thanks very much in advance,
Shermeen
