And the landscape option in the home screen and email. Email with table to the
left and the text to the right in the 6+ version. i hope the s model of iPhone
6 next year will have all the hardware and software features of 6+. If memory
serves. On youtube, "the mobile tech review» will have a serious review of 6
and 6+ later. Actually a pretty tech savy woman. Right to the point often.

Take care

Re: iPhone6 and 6+

2014-09-10 Thread Annie Skov Nielsen
Hi Sieghard.

That would be great. I can not create a picture in my head how the phones will
looklike.

Is there any difference on the speakers in the two phones, and does anyone know
if the speakers has been improved.

Despite that I am blind, I would consider the 6+. I am using braille and in
some instances it can be helpful to have larger pages shown, the battery life
will make a difference to me, and if the sound is better it would really mean a
lot. I am a woman and pockets is not a safe place for my phone maybe in my
coat, so anyway I will have to figure out another carying possibility.

Best regards Annie.

RE: iPhone6 and 6+

2014-09-09 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
The iPhone 6+ has an amazing 24 hours of 3G talk time this compares to 10
hours for the 5S and 14 hours for the iPhone 6. Music playback on the iPhone
5S is rated at 40 hours, 50 hours for the iPhone 6 and 80 hours for the
iPhone 6+. Apple apparently is using the space in the larger phone to put in
a pretty hefty battery. I heard 2900 MAH, that is pretty much twice the size
of an iPhone 5S battery.

I'll post an actual size comparison shortly. Rob from the Today in iOS
podcast lists the actual dimensions (length and width) for the 6 and 6+ and
it's easy to find the ones for the 5S. I am into woodworking, so I'll use
quarter inch plywood which is only marginally thinner at 6mm than the iPhone
6 at 6.9mm and the 6+ at 7.2 mm and I'll make exact pieces for all 3 phones.
I will then try to explain the real size difference in terms of " the size
of a 25 cent coin longer" or "a finger width wider" or something like that.
We already know that even the iPhone 6+ at 7.2mm thick is thinner than the
5S which is I think 7.6mm.

2014-09-09 Thread Tess
Considering this is coming out just 4 days before my birthday, and I have
the 4S, I am jumping to the 6+ with the 128 size.
Looking forward to it. My 4S has treated me well and it will be sad to see
it go, but time to move up.

I wonder if this 6+ is going to be a little too big to carry around in a
pocket? I thought I heard that it would have more ram and a faster processor

too, but maybe that rumor didn't pan out. I am thinking of going at least
for a 6 though. Being that the 4S is the only one I ever felt before and
used, a few things seem like an improvement, such as Apple Pay, the wifi
calling if Sprint ends up supporting it, etc.

RE: iPhone6 and 6+

2014-09-09 Thread Ron Pelletier
Joanne,

If you take your iPhone 5 that is 4 inches diagonally and add 1.5 inches to
your diagonal measurement, you will see that there is quite a bit of
difference in size for the screen. For those who are visually impaired and
not blind, it will make a hell of a difference. That will allow more text on
the screen, thus less scroling. 1.5 inches diagonally doesn't look like much

But it is a lot. You will notice that when you want to put it in your
pocket. That's why I won't change mine and, when I do, I hope they are still
making the smaller one.

different?

RE: iPhone6 and 6+

2014-09-09 Thread Rose Combs
I seldom used my late husband's 5 but I do know that occasionally my
fingers, used to my 4S did not quite seem to go where I needed them to go,
it was just a slight difference, an extra row but I could tell the
difference, especially when I first picked it up to use it for any reason.

It is possible that the 6+ will scan better for OCR because of its
stabilization feature. As for the difference in sizes hear are the numbers.
They are for the 6+, 6, and 5s. I am going to have my wife cut out pieces of
paper for each so that I may compare the sizes in a more tactile manner.

with $100 extra, you get a bigger screen, bigger battery, and according to
some, you get crispier pictures and better displays. If you don't care for
those things, then, it makes not much different eventually.
Is $100 enough for someone that is totally blind to get an iphone6+ and have a
better battery life? I suppose, that depends on how better is better, and how
often and frequent you use and need to charge the phone.
