Re: iPhone bluetooth keyboard recommendations

Hello, no home button, but control-option-h and/or caps lock-h will simulate
the home button, i.e. pressing the combination once just brings up the home
screen, pressing it twice quickly activates app switcher, pressing it three
times, if set up, toggles VoiceOver on or off.

RE: iPhone bluetooth keyboard recommendations

2017-05-27 Thread Richard Turner
Hi,
I'm afraid some of your questions will vary widely because one person may find
one keyboard easy to use while another person finds that same keyboard not to
their liking.
So long as they have all the standard keys, all keyboards perform the same
tasks.
For an Apple device, they will have the control, options, and command keys that
are used for Voiceover commands.
Some keyboards, have them on both sides of the spacebar, which I find makes
using that kind of keyboard much easier as you can hold down control plus
options with either hand.
The Apple keyboard, for one, only has one option key on the left side.
My personal favorite keyboard has been the AmazonBasics KT1081, but that has
not been available for a couple of months and I have no idea if it will ever
become available.
Lots of folks like the Logitech k811 and the k480.
I know the specifications on the Logitech 480 says you can connect it to three
different devices and just turn a dial to pick the device you want to use which
would make it easy to set it up with an iPhone, iPad and a computer, for
example.

Everybody seems to have a slightly different preference on how the keys feel on
a keyboard. So, the bottom line is you will need to try one and if you don't
like it, take or send it back for a refund and try another one.

HTH,
Richard

Re: iPhone bluetooth keyboard recommendations

2017-05-26 Thread Jennie Facer
Hi Rena,

I like that Logitech 811 or the Keys2Go. I love both of them. I use them
interchangeably. I'm sorry it is the k811. There is also the Microsoft foldable
one. I have that one also. I love my keyboards you can say. If you have any
questions about any of these, let me know. I don't have the Apple one but I can
perform any of the gestures with these that I could with the Apple one. Hope
this helps.

I so don't like the touch of the Apple
keyboard! It feels like a lap top, and I don't
like that either. Logitech makes a far more comfortable bluetooth keyboard.

Re: iPhone bluetooth keyboard recommendations

2017-05-25 Thread Helga Schreiber
Hi, How are you? I have a logitech K811 keyboard, which you can pair three
devices with it. And it also works great with one device. I relaly like it
since if you ever get an ipad or an ipod you can connecte d with it as well.
Before this keyboard I had teh apple bluetooth keyboard, which I bought at the
Apple Store. And my mom bought in amazon bluetooth keyboard, which only cost 20
dollars. However, the apple bluetooth keyboard and the amazon bluetooth
keyboard only works with one device. So I recommend you these type of
keyboards. There are other type of keyboards that are like windows keyboards,
but I'm not so sure hwo to use them. Hope these suggestions help! I hve an
iphone 7 by the way. I look forward in hearing from you soon. Thanks and God
bless!

I'll need my sighted wife's help to answer your question, as soon as I can get
it I'll let you know.

I think I said something misleading though when I said that it's "full-sized"
when unfolded; it is large, and has all the keys, but it does not have a numeric keypad;
users of Windows screen readers may want to know this short-coming.

I have not yet found any accessible documentation from Microsoft, and I've been in
contact with their accessibility desk twice about this; the only documentation they could
find for me was the generic "safety" warnings, thrown in with any electronic
device. Very disappointing, as I don't think the printed documentation which is included
with it says anything more; they just count on you being able to see the key caps and
figure things out.

Subject: iphone & bluetooth keyboard?

hi guys, I have the Microsoft Universal Portable bluetooth keyboard
paired to my iphone6, but was wondering if this particular keyboard can
be paired to another IOS devvice such as an apple tv box?, or can this
keyboard be paired only to one IOS device?, Billy

RE: iphone & bluetooth keyboard?

2016-12-21 Thread Chip Orange
Hi Billy,

I only use one device, and what I remember is that the keyboard automatically
goes into pairing mode when you switch to one of its device selections which
isn't yet paired.

I'll need my sighted wife's help to answer your question, as soon as I can get
it I'll let you know.

I think I said something misleading though when I said that it's "full-sized"
when unfolded; it is large, and has all the keys, but it does not have a
numeric keypad; users of Windows screen readers may want to know this
short-coming.

I have not yet found any accessible documentation from Microsoft, and I've been
in contact with their accessibility desk twice about this; the only
documentation they could find for me was the generic "safety" warnings, thrown
in with any electronic device. Very disappointing, as I don't think the
printed documentation which is included with it says anything more; they just
count on you being able to see the key caps and figure things out.

RE: iphone & bluetooth keyboard?

2016-12-19 Thread Chip Orange
I think you can get it anywhere electronics are sold; the description from
Amazon is:
Microsoft Universal Foldable Keyboard for iPad, iPhone, Android devices, and
Windows tablets

I think the word "foldable" is important.

Yes Billy, you can pair 3 devices at once with this keyboard, and switch
between them (and have all 3 devices active at the same time). That's the big
selling point of this keyboard, along with its "universal" nature (meaning it
adjusts to IOS, Android, and Windows devices with the press of a button), and
that it's full sized when unfolded, and about 5 by 7 inches when folded. I
think it holds a charge for up to 3 months.
