Accounting apps for PC and iPhone - Was Re: The new Mint is totally accessible

2013-11-18 Thread Raul A. Gallegos
Hi, I dont' believe so. In order to work on the accounts from both a PC
and an iDevice, you would need some sort of cloud-based accounting app
or software package. I'm sure there are some out there, but I don't know
the names.

Apparently dictation screwed that last message up. LOL.

What I am looking for is an app that works similar to Quicken but can be
accessed with both the computer and the iPhone. Does Home Budget give that
capability? If not, are there other suggestions?

Thanks.

Hello there Amy,
Mint only reflects your actual account balances.
As far as I know, you cannot enter any individual transactions. Mint only

Re: The new Mint is totally accessible

2013-11-17 Thread Raul A. Gallegos
Hi, Mint is cool. Another one which does similar is Check, which was
formally called PageOnce. It's important to note that these apps are
read-only, meaning they will check your banks or alert you of bills due,
but you need to give them access to read your information. I don't know
about Mint, but Check, has the ability to do bill pay as well. I forget
if there is cost associated with it. I prefer Check because it also has
bill reminders and alerts if you get a deposit. both Mint and Check are
free to use.

Last year, I had a co worker help me sneak out cash from my checking

Re: The new Mint is totally accessible

2013-11-17 Thread Tom Frank
Hi there Keith,
My wife says it does sync.

I experienced two problems with the syncing. I wrote two checks to purchase a
painting for my wife at Christmas. I asked the painter to cash them a week
apart so my wife would not be suspicious. She still was when she got a Mint
alert and checked to see who I had written the checks too. There went that
surprise.

The next year a bought her a rocking chair and asked the woodworker to put
through the VISA card right before Christmas. He forgot and put it through a
week early and she got another Mint alert. There went that surprise, too.

Last year, I had a co worker help me sneak out cash from my checking account
over a two month period. Finally, I bought her a painting that was truly a
surprise.

Bottom line: Mint definitely syncs, for better or for worse. Tom Frank

Hi, Tom. I am looking for an app that we can sync between our computer and my
iPhone. Will this app do that?

The new Mint is totally accessible

2013-11-15 Thread Tom Frank
Need an app to keep track of your bank accounts, credit cards, car loan, etc. I
have been using Mint for over a year with some success. However, the latest
version that I downloaded today seems to be totally accessible.

One confession: my sighted wife set up the app at the beginning with our
accounts. She's a geek and I am not.
