Too bad Charter pretty much abandoned the Tivo idea. I think all they offer
is their inaccessible version that you can't even schedule recordings
online.

Subject: TiVo Suggestions

Hello all,

Just wanted to forward an email that I have recieved from Mike May. He is
having issues in posting a new topic. So he ask if I post this on behalf
of

him.

So he would greatly appreciate any suggestions that you may have.

Here is the message that he wrote:

I am a big fan of the TiVo app as the only way in the US to have full
control of a television. I have never been much of a television watcher
partially because of having to depend on a sighted person to run most of
the

controls. The Apple TV certainly opened up many possibilities. It doesn't
however have access to many cable channels and live TV the way other set
top

boxes do.

The TiVo app is very accessible. It even has a simulated remote but it is
usually faster to use the hardware remote for simple functions like play
and

fast-forward.

I am on the TiVo alpha team. If anyone knows of things they would like to
see fixed on the TiVo app, let me know off the list in the next week or
two
so they can get it into the next release. I have been very impressed at
how
open and interested TiVo has been and very excited to know they have one
of
the only fully accessible means for a blind person to run their
television.

Maybe one of these days we will get close to the access our British
friends

have.
