Re: VO issues when on a call-was Triple Click VO off during a call

2012-10-29 Thread Kirsten Edmondson
Hi,
I tried to do this last night while on a call to my mum, to stop it reading out
a text I was receiving. But though it didn't turn off VO and it did put it to
speaker for a few seconds, something even more weird happened: It kept doing
this buz/click type thing, and it did it over and over again intermitently
during my call. My mum noticed it too, she said it sounded like I was being cut
off/dropping out of the call.
I have noticed this same sound when a call connects, IE. when I answer a call,
or just before a call I am ringing is connected. It is something new with ios6
(running on a 4S), does anyone else get this? It seems impossible to turn VO
off during a call now-I will have to resort to the speech off gesture instead.

I have used other apps while on a call. It can be done. You can also hide the
key pad so you can do things like do three way calling.

Jenn

You must first learn to follow before you can lead.

Re: Triple Click VO off during a call

2012-10-07 Thread carla
Hi,
I wondered whether it is possible to use voice over during a call in another
application. I'm thinking that I might want to look in my calendar whilst I'm
on a phone call and wondered whether that is a possible thing to do. Any help
would be appreciated.
Take care,
Cokes.

What I do is a three finger double tap to turn speech off during a call. If
I need voiceover during the call again, I just three finger double tap and
it turns back on.

I use it when my wife uses the phone so that she is not distracted by alerts.

RE: Triple Click VO off during a call

2012-09-27 Thread Ron Pelletier
Hi,

Why bother with the triple home to turn off VO which is a bit still shaky
and not just use the 3 finger double tap to turn off speech without turning
off VO.

I've used this method of turning off vo during a call. But since upgrading
to ios6 I've seen some strange behavior. I haven't figured out a pattern yet
as you seem to have done, but I am seeing some weird behavior.

Re: Triple Click VO off during a call

2012-09-27 Thread Cheryl Homiak
Will muting your phone with the switch on the left side take care of this? I
know muting doesn't silence voiceover but will it keep the announcements from
coming through on a call. If so, it would be a lot easier to just flip that
switch when on the phone instead of turning voiceover off.
