Trying to get the Alexa App from the UK store, from Ireland

2016-12-26 Thread 'Sandratomkins' via VIPhone
Hi,

I have enabled my, brand new, Echo Dot gen 2, but I am having great
difficulty getting the app. Because the Dot is not set up for Ireland, I had to
get it from the UK, the app is not available in the Irish app store. So,
although I know it is possible, can anyone talk me through the easiest way to
get the app? I know how to change the country settings in settings/iTunes/App
store, but don't know about credit card and address info. Do I need to set up a
new apple ID? I only want to get a free app.

If anyone has done this and knows the easiest way, please tell me!!!

Thanks, Sandy.

2016-12-26 Thread Shawn Krasniuk
Hi Sandra. Personally I think the easiest way is to set up a new Apple ID. When
you make it, just put that you're from the UK. Put in an address that you know
exists in the UK and don't worry about credit card information. Hope this helps.

thank you! However, a small problem: where do I go to set up a new Apple ID
using my iPhone? I have taken a look in iCloud, but can't find an option there,
unless, I have to sign out of the existing one first?
All help gratefully received, Sandy

Yes, you do have to sign out of your current Apple ID first, then you can make
your new Apple ID.
