I wanted to update the list on my experience with two single ear headsets I've used with the iPhone 5. I took Raul's advice and bought the Plantronics M50 bluetooth headset and agree with his comments that for $28.99 at Amazon, this is an excellent bluetooth option for use with the iPhone. The battery life is excellent, the set is lightweight and fits comfortably in my ear, and the on-screen battery life indicator is very convenient. The unit has a separate slide power on switch, a button to answer an incoming call, and a button to toggle the volume. These are all easily accessed. The headset paired easily with my iPhone 5. I will say that the sound quality is not excellent but is certainly good enough for the price and my intended use of the device. Here's an Amazon link for anyone who wants to investigate further:

This earphone is $12.95 at Amazon and well worth the cost if you don't mind using a wired set. The sound quality is very good and better than the Plantronics M50 in my opinion. The wire has a high-quality feel unlike some cheaper earphones I've used in the past with thin, almost plastic-feeling wires. The unit comes with different sized ear tips. It has a mic and a button that lets you answer incoming calls and also works like the center button on the iPhone 5 earpods to start and stop music playback and to go to previous and next tracks and to rewind and fast forward through playing tracks. You can also summon Siri with this button and my testing of it with Siri worked well. There is no separate volume button, however. For $12.95, this is an excellent wired single ear headset.
