Re: Using a Bluetooth Keyboard with your 4th Generation Apple TV

2015-12-16 Thread Brian Fischler
Hi Mary, Thanks. Ever since the latest update to the remote app which got it
working with the 4th gen Apple TV, I have been using it to type. Funny as
whoever would have thought we would be saying well I actually type that faster
on an iPhone which with the new flicking on the Apple TV makes that statement a
reality.

Using a Bluetooth Keyboard with your 4th Generation Apple TV

2015-12-16 Thread Brian Fischler
Hey all,

Had not seen this posted here and just discovered that you can now use your
bluetooth keyboard with your 4th generation Apple TV through the iPhone Remote
app. Quick steps go to a search field anywhere on the Apple TV. Launch the
iPhone Remote app make sure home sharing is turned on in iTunes, and start
typing on your bluetooth keyboard that is paired to your iPhone. Is it the
ideal set up, no but beats all the flicking on the Apple TV. You can also use
the keyboard on your iPhone to type as well. Hope this helps some.

Re: Using a Bluetooth Keyboard with your 4th Generation Apple TV

2015-12-16 Thread Mary Otten
Hi Brian,
That is a rather ingenious workaround. I think I read that Apple is going to be
coming out with an entirely new remote app for the Apple TV. Hopefully, they
will not take this feature away when they do that. Or alternatively, hopefully
they will actually implement Bluetooth keyboard support in the next update.
Mary
