Re: voice dream reader question

2018-12-06 Thread Richard Turner

i had posted a note when 4.70 came out that it seems to be only newly
downloaded books that start from the beginning rather than from the notice. So,
if you are talking about books already in your library, then that is not a
problem. If you are talking about a book you just downloaded, then you should
contact support.
It would be nice if books already downloaded would do this, but I'm also not
surprised they don't. It isn't that hard to skip the notice, so it isn't a big
deal to me.

Re: Voice Dream reader question

Try going into reading settings in Voice Dream, then reading mode. The first
section you have a choice to stop at the end of each sentence.
Try that with a recipe.

Re: Voice Dream reader question

2017-07-03 Thread Richard Turner

It is not as easy to read with VoiceOver in Voice Dream Reader.
It is designed so it is your player. You can use VoiceOver voices, but then you
are stuck with reading by sentence.
There is a setting to stop at the end of each sentence. I will check where that
is exactly and write again.

Voice Dream reader question

2017-07-03 Thread Jan Stirbens
Hello,

I have a huge collection of cook books in my read2go app. When I read a
recipe, I read with voice over, so I can read the recipe line by line. I want
to move my books to voice dream reader. Is there a way to read the text of a
book using voice over instead of playing the book using the app voice?
If there is an updated voice dream reader tutorial, could someone point me in
that direction? I looked on apple vis, but the tutorial I found was made in
2015.
Any help is greatly appreciated, and I apologize for the long message.

Thank you.

Re: Voice dream reader question

2016-11-03 Thread Richard Turner
I noticed this with several apps as well. I take that it is a new feature/bug
of iOS 10.
It seems like a bug to me, but maybe it is a feature to some to quickly go back
to your last app...

Subject: Voice dream reader question

I have voice dream reader on my iPhone 7 Plus and my iPad mini two. I have been
noticing, since the upgrade to iOS 10, that on the iPad, in the app switcher, I
get something that says voice dream reader according to your current location,
or something very close to that. And it cannot be dismissed from the app
switcher. This only seems to happen on the iPad. Yesterday, four instance, I
had voice dream reader on my iPad open. I got finished with it, and dismissed
the app from my app switcher. Having done that, remaining in the app switcher
what is this thing that says voice dream reader according to your current
location. If I double tap on it, it is identified as a button, the app opens.
This is frustrating, since you're not supposed to have two voice dream readers
open at once. Has anyone seen this? Has anyone noticed a pattern? I can
certainly write to Winston and will do so. But I thought I would ask first to
see what others had been experiencing.

Re: voice dream reader question and braikle display

2016-04-27 Thread Scott Davert
Is there also a way to get rid of these crazy linebreaks? I poked
around in settings for VDR, but don't see anything obvious. Basically,
when reading a BKS book, there are points in the text where the
braille display shows nothing. I have to pan forward several times
before anything will appear.

Thanks for any help!

2016-04-27 Thread Woody Anna Dresner
Hi Rebecca,

There's no way to make the percentage go away completely, but you can make it
appear so briefly you barely notice it. To do this, open Braille settings, and
set Alert Display Duration to .5 seconds.

Anna

voice dream reader question and braikle display

Hi akl. When using a braille display in voice dream reader, is there a way to
not see the percentage I've read of a book at the bottom of every page I read?
Otherwise I can scroll just fine. It might show something like 4.6 percent or
something like that as an example.

Re: Voice Dream Reader Question

2016-02-07 Thread Richard Turner

Hi Keith,
I don't think there is a way to do that.
Since the BookShare book is in a zip file that VoiceDream extracts I believe,
there is no way to then upload the book from the app to Google Drive.
I'd suggest writing Winston, the developer, and see if that is something he
could add.

What format are the books?

Subject: Voice Dream Reader Question

I am wondering if there is a way to save books I have in my Voice Dream Reader
to a folder in Google Drive so that they can be removed from my phone and
accessed again as needed. I really would rather not use iTunes, if possible.

I am accumulating quite a nice library and some of these books need to be kept.
I do have Google Drive enabled in my account.

Any input would sincerely be appreciated. Thanks, and have a great Super Bowl
weekend!!

Re: Voice dream reader question

2013-10-06 Thread Aman Singer
Hi, Denise.
Thanks for the explanation and I'm sorry I didn't get what you were saying.
First, you can use the iOS voices with VoiceDream as reading voices. That, as I
said, is available in the voice store part of the app. For what you're trying
to do, though, I generally use pages, though this is slow. I would use another
app since VoiceDream offers no real advantages for this type of work, in my
view. Where VoiceDream really shines is in the reading of long files aloud and
occasional stops to look at things in braille. For short files where one may
want to switch back and forth between braille and speech quite often, as with
handouts, conference papers, agendas, etc, other apps may do better. I would
be pleased to be corrected about this. Sorry again for not getting things clear.

Hi,
Well that is because I was in a bit of a hurry. So I didn't really explain
things as thoroughly as I could have. I heard that Braille doesn't show up in
pages under iOS 7. I don't know if this is still true for 7.02.
