while this is not a new product by any stretch of the imagination, it’s new to
me, as I just got a series 6 Apple Watch Monday.
I would like somebody to test walkie-talkie with me, if they feel comfortable
in doing so. Do you need a phone number, or would it work with an email
address? Thanks! If it works with an email address, feel free to add me to your
contact list, and then invite me to be walkie-talkie partners. :-) This,
obviously, is my Apple ID address.

I miss those phones, use to love my nextel devices. You could use a
headset or put the phone to your ear if you didn't want people to hear
your convo. Also it was sweet to be able to use that when there was no
service with other devices.

Ok Ann,

Here is what I do. I double tap the hold just for a second and do so very
lightly as you don’t want to actually do a force touch on your watch. After you
hear a series of beeps, then let go and then try to talk. They you can do a
double tap when you are done.

Re: Walkie-talkie

2018-10-18 Thread Jan Stirbens
Hello,

Thank you for your suggestions. I was not on the phone when trying
walkie-talkie app. I removed my contact, and added her again, but it still
doesn’t work. I tried turning wi-fi off, then back on, and still no go.
I tried having my contact invite me on walkie-talkie, but still doesn’t work.
I called apple, and they couldn’t resolve the problem. They suggested I try
inviting another contact, but I don’t know anyone else who has a watch that can
use the walkie-talkie app.

Re: Walkie-talkie

2018-10-18 Thread Jennie Facer
Hi,

For starters, you canoot be on the phone with the contact you are inviting at
the time of invite. Two, if the contact doesn’t have an AppleWatch running OS5,
it won’t work either. After both of these has been addressed, I’m not quite
sure why it won’t add. Try removing the contact and try adding again.

Walkie-talkie

2018-10-17 Thread Jan Stirbens
Hello,

I am using the series 4 apple watch and watchOs5.01. When I open the
walkie-talkie app on the watch I can add a contact, but when I try to have a
conversation with my contact, I see the inviting available button. I double
tap on it to invite my contact, and nothing happens. I have myself set to
available.
Any thoughts? Any help is appreciated.

2018-10-10 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
You have to turn the digital crown to add contacts, then your contact whom you
add is supposed to agree to use it and so on, but it doesn't always seem to
work. Anyhow, it's more of a toy than something really useful you would use
every day, at least that is how I feel about it.

Am I supposed to set htis up on the phone rather than the watch? I
opened it on the watch and it just provided an explanation of how it
works, but no way to add my contacts etc. It must be on the phone but
that wasn't clear.

Am I supposed to set htis up on the phone rather than the watch? I
opened it on the watch and it just provided an explanation of how it
works, but no way to add my contacts etc. It must be on the phone but
that wasn't clear.

The walkie-talkie app it’s quite easy to use and navigate. It works the same
way whether you are on the Apple Watch Series 2, series 3 or 4.
Using it with voiceover is also quite simple. You have to tap and hold the

Hi, I have a series 3 Apple Watch, and it does not work either of those ways
for me. I have to double tap on the button get a sound clip to the right and
get the walkie-talkie sound then I can talk then I double tap with one finger
and it sends the message that gestures are not consistent.

Also there's an app called Roger which lets you use your phone as a walk-talky.
To answer your second question, if you're away from home, then yes, you'll need
cell service unless you can find a place that has wifi.

Walkie Talkie?

2016-08-07 Thread Kim Samco
Hi,

I think there are apps that will make the iphone function as a Walkie Talkie
with another IPhone, my question is does it require cell service?

THank you,

Kim

Walkie Talkie App

2013-07-03 Thread Penny Golden
I am new to this iDevice business and have been having quite a
joy ride as I get educated. Forgive my ignorance, but what is a Walkie
Talkie App. I can imagine what happens and how it works, but would like
some confirmation of my supposings.

Thanks.

Hi Chris, there was a bug with the Voxer app that prevented people

have released another update, and you can upgrade to pro now. If you
do it I'd be interested if you think it's worth it.

Voxer is in my view the best of all these walkie talkie apps so I'm
considering it.

In the app store today were two updates. One for Bbc News and the
other for Voxer.
In the Bbc news app you can now get push notifications for breaking
news. From what I am hearing I will get more breaking news than I do
on the Sky News app, which some days I don't get any breaking news at
all. Not saying it's bad; just comparing. The sound used is I think a
little clip of the jingle used in the Bbc News channel.
As for Voxer, one can now upgrade or at least try Voxer Pro. But I
have a problem with this.
When I double tap on enjoy Voxer Pro, nothing happens. Any ideas?
Wanted to try the extreme notifications feature.
Anyway just thought I would share my observations with the app
updates I personally received today.

Re: Walkie Talkie App

2013-07-03 Thread Chris H
You are supposed right. Walkie Talkie apps emulate or imitate a walkie
talkie or 2 way radio.
