What's the VO Gesture for Scrolling through a Long List?

2017-08-25 Thread Evan Reese
Hey Guys,
I probably read this somewhere, but I’ve forgotten how to scroll through a long
list of items in VoiceOver without having to go through items one by one.
I got this NOAA Weather app that streams weather channels. It lists them by
state. What do I do if I want to skip twenty or thirty states without having to
hear the name of each one spoken? There is a gesture for that, isn’t there?
Thanks much for any help.
Evan

You should be able to do a 3 finger swipe up or down to scroll.

Hi Julian,
It’s called NOAA Weather Radio.
You can read about it at:

https://www.applevis.com/apps/ios/weather/noaa-weather-radio

The app store link is:

https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/noaa-weather-radio/id410148139?mt=8&ign-mpt=uo%3D8

It’s not free though. It costs $3.99. It’s worth it to me though, so I bought
it.

2017-08-26 Thread Donald Moore
The Fort Meyers station is seemingly down more than working. These stations
are manned by volunteers, so the coverage is pretty spotty.

I haven’t figured out another solution either except to use other weather apps.

Re: What's the VO Gesture for Scrolling through a Long List?

2017-08-26 Thread Michael D. Ulrich
Yeah, that's what I figured. Too bad something can't be done about it.

Streaming Weather Stations (was: Re: What's the VO Gesture for Scrolling through a Long List?)

2017-08-26 Thread Evan Reese
Well, my station up here in /Akron Ohio sounds pretty good, but there is quite
a wide variability in quality for the streams; and some don’t work at all,
that’s true.
But my experience is that most of them work most of the time, and at least for
the app on my iPad Mini, I don’t have to bother to update my Flash player
because the streams stop working, and I’m not tied to my PC whenever I want to
listen to a stream.
I tried the Houston stream last night and today for obvious reasons, and while
it’s a bit noisy and there’s a very occasional dropout, it works pretty well.

I have the NOAA weather radio app on my iPhone. The problem is for my local
station, it's nothing but static. I've selected other cities with in Florida,
and their stations comment fine too OK. I've tried contacting Noah, but I never
get any replies on that. How are other apps with their local stations coming
Emma Claire, or static?

  Hi Julian,
  It’s called NOAA Weather Radio.
You can read about it at:

  The app store link is:

It’s not free though. It costs $3.99. It’s worth it to me though, so I bought
it.

audio it's for different states? Thank you in advance.

You should be able to do a 3 finger swipe up or down to scroll.

by state. What do I do if I want to skip twenty or thirty states without having
to hear the name of each one spoken? There is a gesture for that, isn’t there?
  Thanks much for any help.
