Hello all,
I was wondering if anyone on the ist has used any of the battery banks for
i-devices. I have heard the guests on MacBreak Weekly review them.

Thanks.

Anker do smaller packs the size of lipstick I would say, but they only
charge the phone once and won't charge a tablet at all. Check out the
Astro Mini E3 for example which only powers a 3,000 MaH battery.

Re: anger battery bank

2015-03-03 Thread Alan J Paganelli
I would like to point out something way cool. For Christmas my wife bought a
new device for me. I have no clu what they call it but here’s what it does.
It takes the standard 3 prong A/C wall outlet in the US and when you plug this
device in, it will take up both outlets. It will then give you one outlet plus
where the other outlet should be, you get 2USB 3 ports which will recharge
iPhones or iPads or anything else needing recharging from a USB port. I tried
it with my Victor Reader Stream II and it charges that too. My wife didn’t
know which one I’d like so she bought me a second device. Again, you plug it
in to a US standard wall outlet and it gives you 3 standard 3 prong A/C outlets
one right next to each other and 2 USB 3 charging ports. So, I stuck the
smaller one in our motor home and the larger one in the bathroom wall outlet by
the double sink counter. Both these devices have a built in braker. As people
collect more and more portable devices, they will also recharge my Plantronics
Voyager Legend too. As more and more of these devices come on the market,
people are going to need more and more outlets that can recharge them. Just
thought you’d like to know.

Alan

Hi Denise, the more powerful the battery pack, the bigger it's going to be.
Mine's not tiny. But sometimes I can be on planes for 24 hours or more. Now
that I have the 6 Plus which has astounding battery life, I may well be willing
to get a smaller one when this needs replacing.

Yes, you charge the battery back up device while at home and then when you
leave home and notice that your iPhone, iPad, iPod or a ton of other devices
that charge via a USB cable, is loosing the battery power, just plug the USB
end of your charging cable into the battery back up device and then plug the
other end into your phone or tablet so your device can recharge. I love it, I
never have to worry about having a dead phone or iPod while away from home.

There are a lot of similar devices out there, one I have for travelling is a
Belkin power bar which has a very short cable that plugs into a wall outlet and
which wraps around the unit when not in use and you then get 3 regular outlets
and 2 USB plugs on the powerbar. You can also get complete wall plates which
replace your standard wall outlet and which give you your regular 2 outlets + 2
USB ports so theoretically when somebody builds a new house or if you want to
upgrade your existing outlets you could put these outlets everywhere and you’d
have USB power at every outlet in your house.

Hi Joanne, off the top of my head I don't have exact dimensions, you could
Google for those. It would fit in a deep pants pocket. It's long and fairly
thin. I usually have it with me in my backpack with my laptop and other
technology when I travel. It's not heavy.

outstanding and they charge your devices fast.
I have the 20,000 MHA battery pack which has three or four USB ports in it.
It'll charge an iPad a couple of times over and an iPhone quite a few times
over. They also just released a 25,000 battery which is getting rave reviews.

Re: anger battery bank

2015-03-02 Thread Shane Clark
Hello, 1 battery power bank that I would suggest you look into is from my
charge. Its called the Mycharge Summit 3000 ma battery power bank. I myself
use it for my Android device, but it is equipped with the iPhone charger
that charges up to an iPhone 4s. It also has some USB slots that will allow
you to charge any other device that you would like to also. The thing that
sold me on this charger, is that it talks to let you know its battery
status. It will let you know if the battery is full, or let you know when
it needs to be charged, as well as indicate to you when its on, off, or
charging. I got mine on eBay for 17 bucks, so that may be worth looking
into. Hope this helps, Shane.

Is the one you have small or the about the same size as the mypeak 6000 battery
bank. I thought I heard that Anker has a small one about the size of a
cigarette lighter, though I'm not sure about that.

The ones by Anker are excellent. I have the Atro E4 which houses a
13,000 MaH battery which can charge a smartphone about six times and a
tablet about once. This is from a full discharge.
